  1. ya i think im confused too...all the posts i posted to country lover's blog has gotten merged over here too. by the way, the lamps in the site u gave me are sooo ex! how much did u get your table lamp and hanging lamp in sing dollars???
  2. which site u mind sharing? and hw much? and do you know the price at pearl lighting? thanks!
  3. u can also put a transparent sheet over the nice country table cloth so tt it wont get dirty, easier to wipe too. i did that for my dining table but only after 2 yrs and it has quite a number of stains already. also looking out for nice ones to replace or might make my own if i really cannot find lol
  4. ur lamp is so cute! I always wanna get such porcelain lamps... but not sure where to get. Where did u get it and hw much?? i wnana get a standing one and maybe a table one
  5. icic. ok tks! what is the size of your desk? im tinking of getting a desk too but cannot find any nice ones out there
  6. ya new hdb flat kitchens are usually small and dark... hopefuly my next house wil have a bigger kitchen so that cooking/baking will be easier! Now i have limited counter space! icic! shall look foward to seeing ur white kitchen materialise! i might wanna try ikea's kitchen next time if its cheaper cos they hv the country look too! i wnana spend more of the $ on other areas of the hse lol
  7. hey how much did u custom the table for? i like such tables...do u hv a pic of the front?
  8. ooh not bad! but hor white for kitchen ar... might be hard to maintain if u cook often which i tink u do cos u have 3 kids right? maybe can consider other colours like sage green or rosewood colour? u can do the white with gold trimmings in the living or rooms... will look very classic in those areas... just my 2 cents worth
  9. oh i guess both of us went a few yrs ago...so now they have improved a lot already. we stay quite far from ubi and no car...so after the first time experience we never went back haha. are you buying furniture from them? must show us leh!
  10. ya lor..budget is always a constraint... there're many things i want too..but cannot lar...unless one day i strike big sweep...then im gonna create my dream country house whahahha :P:P u do wadever is needed first...then slowly add on year by year, just like countrylover and me my shoe cabinet was done 1yr after my reno as i wanted to look ard for a cheaper one...who knows i cannot find one that im satisfied with...and its gonna be in the living room!..and i already done up the living swee swee le so cannot anyhow get 1 ma..and yet i dowan to spend too much on it as its for shoes! LOL. dilemma...so end up custom one again lol...
  11. hihi if their designs are not nice, u design yourself! hehe. that's what i did. i roughly know what i like and don't like, so i browsed the web, magazines etc to show them the designs i want, then ask them to do it. but of cos...if want nice design, have to have the $ lar...(that's why i focused on the main items like the fireplace, display hutch, MBR and kitchen only. the rest of the loose furnitures i bought at a much cheaper price and the 2 common rooms, 1 have only a single bed moved from hubby's house (luckily it has a slight country look ) and the other is a study room, only have a table and chest of drawers from the IFC country shop. I moved another small bookcase (From ikea) from my parent's house cos its quite new. Like that saved a lot of $ lor hehe. Most guests only sit in the living room or go to the kitchen for a drink, so the 2 rooms are not so impt as we also have a limited budget
  12. i replied some parts in the above post lol. yup wainscotting is very ex that's why i gave up too. Hubby said whole stretch of wood for not a small amount of $$! U can do beading like me, or consider doing either top or bottom of the wall with wallpaper, compare the costs. But then with kids around...maybe wallpaper in MBR will be a better idea
  13. hihi ya better dun go IFC for that country shop. i regretted buying from them. all my dresser, side tables, chest of drawers...all grow mould! i had a huge headache. Their quality dropped a lot too since years ago. The handle of my drawer broke after 2 months. Their service is lousy too. Called them about the mould problem and they just kept shifting blame back to me saying my house is humid. If my hse is that serious, how come the furniture in the same hse/room that my ID custom made didn't grow mould?? They cannot answer me and just kept arguing. I went to the shop at Ubi once, their french stuff not a lot (about 5-6 items in the entire shop, the rest are of other themes like oriental, resort, thai etc). Design wise i feel is so so. Not sure if they had improved now. i also love white furniture and flowery stuff! i have a flowery fabric sofa hehe. And flowery curtains My white stuff so far are ok cos i chose off white, not pure white. Have no kids yet so maybe my problems are not here yet!
  14. i think you have to check with forest what is going on, and if u sign with them, have to state in contract that if any of these peeling issues occur, they will have to do smting about it...to safeguard your interests lor. where is your new house? what theme you going for? french? english? shabby?
  15. i bought from the country shop at IFC at sungei kadut, but their quality is very lousy, mine grew mould!! So i would not advise buying from there. Did countrylover say her furniture from forest had paint peeling off? Which post? So your house is undergoing renovation soon? Exciting!
