  1. hi jacky777, On the topic of whining water pipes, for my case, i found out that the noises were coming out from the pressure relief valves that were built with the pressure gauges. The town council contractor came and tweaked the water pressure from the riser outside my unit. I'm not sure exactly what he tweaked, but the whining noise were gone after that. One thing for sure, my unit's water pressure remains the same after his "tuning". On a side note, did anyone notice that the lifts in 79C were dripping water everytime there's heavy rain?
  2. call town council. they should know what to do by now.
  3. I wouldn't mind too but it still wouldn't solve the issue of insufficient season lots at the lower levels. Btw a HDB surveyor came knocking and conducted a survey of how our family felt about the sky garden. Of course, I just gave it to him truthfully.. Weird thing is, the way he conducted the survey quite bias, in my opinion. First, he ask a question. Then, before I can respond, he'll auto answer the question as if thats my "expected" response. I was expecting a more neutral stance from a surveyor. Anybody else did this survey?
  4. Suggest to convert the first 3 levels of our MSCP to full day season parking only?
  5. Hi neighbors, Not sure if its just me, but on the topic of water pressure, the water riser outside my unit is driving me nuts! This has been plaguing me for months and there's a loud whining/whistling sound each time the building water pump attempts to equalise the pressure. My dad keeps getting mistaken that the water kettle is boiling! No joke, the whining is really crazy. Called SPServices, referred me to PUB, referred me to town council, referred me to their contractor, blamed it on their supplier. According to the contractor, its the pressure gauge thats causing the problem. In the end, they claim that they needs more time to monitor (huh?!?) and no solutions at all. No timeline was mentioned too. Anyone shares with the same problems as I do? On a side topic, if any of you guys have any recommendations for part time maid, can you PM me?
  6. Dtft, I did mine with them. Completed with no major hiccups. What do you wish to know?
  7. I hate wires too and I'm currently using the Marantz ES7001 (6 spkrs) and I'm quite happy with it. If you're not a hardcore audiophile, I guess soundbars are good enough. Even if not buying, you should try hearing the faux-surround effects from Yamaha YSP-4000 (using its 42 discrete drivers). From there, you can determine how much you're willing to sacrifice in terms of audio reproduction and spending power.
  8. Hi fellow Blk 79 residents, I'm new to this forum and it really took me some time to browse thru 51 pages of information. Great work here, in sharing ideas and information! I called Joy (the main con that does the haulage for Blk 79C) and he quoted me 800 for sand and haulage for living room and kitchen. However, I do remember an earlier post in this thread that states the cost to be around 450 in total. Just like to find out how much you guys are paying and whether I had been "chopped" or not. Best, Loon.
