  1. Haha we have a good Taiwanese friend who is going back to Taipei soon so she can help. Also another colleague heading back home too! Now the problem is, is there an online catalogue to check out?

Now fixing our vintage zakka itch with TB and Tmall ;) just ordered some stuff, can't wait!

This, i am not sure since I cannot check the website out on the ipad now. Apple products always have certain limitations at times. But I saw that they carry certain replica furnitures in addition to household accessories. But I did like a couple of their big size retro clocks though, can be a good buy if comparing with ikea's skovel clock. Only thing is, our luggage is too small for it so didn't buy.

You could email them and ask if there is any catalog of their products, it will not hurt to know. :)

  2. Hi BunBun, you are good! Not many people has heard of the name, Leia unless they watch Star Wars :) Leia's long ears remind us of Princess Leia's hair buns!

I think our microwave doesn't come with convention facility. That's why for the butter cake, we used our convention oven instead which worked, phew! We actually broke part of Philips hand blender (we knew we were pushing our luck using that to mix the flour, eggs etc) so I succumbed to the lust of the Kitchenaid.

Now we have friends inviting themselves to our place to bake lol

Makanology, the original starwars movie should be familiar for those born in the 70s-80s actually. The first movie was from 1977 but the most memorable movie, that made the most impact and was probably the fantasy of every teenage boys' dreams at the time back then was the one from 1983 lol. But her hair buns really are iconic too.

  3. Hey bunbun, you are right! Thanks for identifying the place because I totally forgot what it is called. Lots of nice stuff at reasonable prices. Go crazy!

Greg, no problem! :) I was in taipei recently and bought a couple of soap dispensers in turquoise colors from the ximending outlet. That's why I found your picture familiar when I saw it.

Makanology, maybe when you are in taiwan, you could probably buy some stuff from working house and have them shipped by air post? It would be better if you have taiwanese friends who can help.

  4. Your dog is cute! Did you name her Leia after Princess Leia in the original Starwars in the 80s?

Microwave ovens cannot make it for baking unless they come with convection function. Not sure if you know this but if you do use baking recipes you find online for example, the temperature stated in the recipe may not be right for you because the voltage, type of oven is one reason why the temperature differs in baking cakes/cookies.

Usually I set the temperature by 10-20 deg lower. For some, if the heat is not strong, they will set the degree slightly higher as an adjustment. Great effort with the butter cake! I love the kitchenaid in varying colors but didn't want to spend alot for a kitchenaid back then when I was looking for a mixer replacement so I bought a Buffalo mixer instead. Maybe next time I get a kitchenaid when my current buffalo mixer spoils.

  5. I had supreme flooring installed 5years ago, AC3 laminate for the Rooms & AC5 laminate for living room. And fast forward to now, I have kronotex (prima floor from germany)AC3 laminate flooring installed just recently for the living room by krono original (The Oriqin Company P/L.)

Disclaimer: I am not even paid to advertise the company's name and service in here. I am doing this because I am satisfied with the workmanship, price and also to post my fair opinion on supreme and kronotex flooring likewise.

Why do i have kronotex AC3 laminate now? Because firstly, compared to Supreme who offered lifetime warranty on material and workmanship, Kronotex offered a cheaper alternative as it is their promotion. For the price given for kronotex laminate etc, it is well worth it. I would go for the good quality laminate at a reasonable price and even more so, their promotional price was also attractive for us to make the switch to Kronotex laminate. Additionally, the service is also great and pleasant simply because they did a very good job.

Supreme however in my opinion did not make good on its word to provide lifetime warranty on material and workmanship. In fact, when we called Supreme to replace some damaged boards, they quoted us a fee to change the flooring partly BECAUSE they had no stock in the same colour. This is really sad as this was never highlighted to us previously when we had signed up with Supreme, that in the event that they had no stock in the same colour, we would have to pay the cost of new flooring - what good is their lifetime warranty in the first place?

To be fair. Supreme's after sales service by the guy who attended to us, was decent but as the sales guy had already left the company when we called Supreme to change the damaged boards - we were flabbergasted to know that this so called lifetime warranty was practically useless as mentioned above :bangwall: and their AC5 laminate is clearly not as good as the AC3 laminate because the boards (AC5) left some gaps here and there during the 5 years we have been staying in our current place. We have no problems with the AC3 laminates in the bedrooms though. This should not be the case when there are already small gaps hidden by the skirting, to enable the flooring to expand - This clearly indicates the level of quality.

  6. Wow your house is gaining cult fame some more. Keke I've always had the feeling that with this artistic talent, you are the female version of Bryan Wong, the host on new renaissance and the renovation package on channel 8

Thanks bunbun! U r always so nice!

Been kind of busy lately as well..

But guess wat? Squarerooms will be coming next wednesday! Yeah!

N this time i specifically requested for non-blue items! Hee...

  7. Hello rayfox & cmc123

My apologies for the late reply as I hardly hang around in RT due to busy work commitments. If you are keen on looking at the pictures of the furniture I bought previously, please pm me.

Rayfox: The furniture I bought for my own place is very sturdy. In fact some of the furniture pieces are heavy for me to lift. Fortunately I have had no issues with my own furniture as they still serve their purpose well - I am speaking from my own point of view only, not the majority. Cost wise, there is definitely some savings in terms of exchange rate. Definitely for value especially since the furniture shops in SG do import their furniture from overseas, the same as the ones in malaysia I'm told.

The thing about it is that before you accept the furniture on delivery, the onus is on to you to check for any defect before signing the delivery slip the delivery guys will pass to you because in any case of defect, you need them to be present and take them back for a replacement. Also, you have to check with the furniture shop for any warranty etc because everything has to be listed out in the invoice.

cmc123: For furniture, lightings & bathroom accessories at the same area/place, I don't think I know of all three being in the same area, my apologies

you know where in JB we can find furniture, lightings & bathroom acc in the same area/place?

    Thanks<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

what the point of showing the catalogue , show us the real thing that u bought then we can can decide is it worth the risk to buy in jb or not

and if there is any problem before or after the sale there is no small claim and channel that u can complaint too so is it worth it to buy it there

    just to save money ?

  9. Wah, can still remember what I say.. marshy.

The shop name is Lee Bee Enterprises. But not at St 41/42. It's located at Blk 507 Jurong West Street 52 (But it is a small shop, the neighbourhood kind)

Alternatively, you can consider buying baking stuff from JB but diary produce is not allowed in SG from JB though

Not only clementi, there's also PH opp Holland v, and Kitchen Capers too if my memory serves me correctly.

yea i know Clementi has... but have to take train to go there... troublesome la~ *lazy* :P but yea lor like what you said, the Clementi one... somehow don't have a lot of things although the shop not so small leh. usually out of the 5 things i ask them, they would only have 1.... haiz.

you can go Becoolen or Geylang..... :)

last time Bun Bun mentioned there is another baking shop at Jurong West St 41/42 area. but i forgot the name of the shop....

oh maybe Lady_R can help to check it out! haha~

i think i read about this before... the class fee also very "nice"? :P

  10. Mae Jiejie

Thank you! My mum is kinda into FS - she's had a FS master go to her office and the family home to look at the FS.

Your home is one of the nicest renovated place, I've been viewing in RT here and it definitely will catch alot of attention especially your ID, donny and his efforts. It's not that hard to remember as value for services is the primary concern but efforts are the most valued at the end of the process. :)

And do take care of yourself, health & rest is the best luxury in life.

    Sis BunBun

I am glad to offer my humble advice to you!

I am also grateful for what you have mentioned to Drexter. This shows my friends here have read my reno journey & remembered all the comments made in my thread here!

Kudos to you & friends78 who can even remember how my ID forked out his pocket money to pay the wallpaper guy to use up the balance materials my ID saw in the store during housewarming!!

Words cannot express how much I am touched by your kind comments here. :)

  11. Hi Mae Jiejie

Next time move house (if intending to do so), I will ask you for your FS view. keke

    Hello, Sister BunBun

Yup, my friends here also commented cannot catch up the thread already as it is moving very fast.

Like I mentioned in several post, there is some form of 'energy' which will somehow influence you to move house at certain time of the luck cycle. If you are entering into your good luck cycle (Heaven Luck), but the house does not support you (Earth Luck), you will move house (Man luck). ;)

    Drexter

I think that you need to go through the itemized list and you can discuss with the ID on what is the best alternative that can be done as a solution before you can agree on the works to be done.

Compromise is the word here. Donny compromised with Mae over things knowing that he will be losing out in alot of things. But at the end of the day, it works out for both parties. So if you have a budget to stick to, I think you do what is the most important things you need to get done as you will be using them MOST often for the next 5 years or so, the rest you can build up slowly.

I had already cut and left with the basic items... even forgo my HTS cum Study room (Leave it till future) :( What initiatives did he made, please share with us
