  1. My direct neighbour which is a rental unit to ang mo family also complained and still asked my hacking bangla to hack according to his toddler 's waking hours despite I having already apologise in advance before the hacking begins. ..so looking forward to being neighbours :)

Never mind la. . Small setback for you and soon you will be in a beautiful home. When is estimated handover

  2. The wooden bed frames looks nicer but I would have taken the 2nd one because of the cushiony headboards because I like to lay in bed to read books, mobile, watch movie etc so I would prefer that for comfor.looks wise it is also nice and more unique to wooden frames. The legs are also hidden underneath so less chance of hitting toes to the external frame

  3. Enjoying the shopping process for home renovation. Went to Kohler showroom to have a look at the sinks and fixtures. Shortlisted 2 below (pulled out) but decided on the rectangular one as i have a habit of dripping water all over the floor when washing face and brushing teeth..hehe

Kohler is having sale on their existing stock - while stocks last.

I have chosen it because they are vessel sinks which have half sitting inside the vanity table thus giving it a sleek thin look on countertop and yet deep enough for practical use.

  4. Very nice very nice! I like the masculine style of your home and like almost all of your home furnishing. I am also looking to have texture glassed or frosted for the glass door dividing my kitchen and the yard/toilet area especially since my WC is open concept so anyone in the kitchen can see the "action" . How come yours has colour? share please ..

  5. Yay! Tres tres bon! I am looking forward to seeing the colour combination because no risk no gain ;) I spent a fee minutes on the admira site and honestly although I love so many of the colours but I was thinking why don't just take white to be safe mm so boring right ? Still trying to convince my mind to see the colours all together ..

But his colour board looks more green than baby blue to me or ls it my eyes ?

  6. Think it will be rojak eccentric style..haha.. actually i love dark warm spaces with splashes of bright colours such as teal, dark pink, rich purple etc, very indian or arabic style but BF feels its too feminine for him so we are trying to balance it out. I came back from India with 1 persian carpet and 2 indian embroidered pouf covers. On top of that I have a whole loot of items collected over the years from travel so to be honest no idea how the space will turn out.

Anyone can share where to buy foam / beans for the cushion covers/

Wooo it's actually a little rustic!! Like shabby chic.
Can't wait to see what u have in mind for it!

  7. After 10 days away for work trip in India, it is exciting to see the tiles coming up. Our last minute decision to change the tiles didn't come out too badly. Contractor Desmond has also feedback that the tiles quality are quite good with hardly any warped tiles.

    **happy!

    - wall between bedrooms came down to make space for a walk in wardrobe.

    - Kitchen walls came down to have an open concept kitchen.

    - wall between bedroom2 and living room came down to become part of the hall for TV area. The original hall will become a very big dining area.

Walls between the WC and shower came down to make an open concept WC. (sorry dunno how to make the photo vertical)

  8. Lazyfatcat!!! I am back to Singapore after 10 days and will catch up on your blog again, don't stop :) So have the tiles laying started as i am always as anxious as owner to start see the transformation of home renovations. LOL!

Looking at your colour laminates and they look lovely especially the baby blues - are these laminates Formica? I am quite attracted to the Lilac and will ask my contractor Desmond for a closer look. Wood is nice but felt the same way as you in that it could be to close to the flooring colours since in my case, my kitchen is bearing the same wood like tile throughout.

Stainless countertop.... oh girl.. I like that so much but practicality overules. I want to see your kitchen before deciding mine but I think no possible..

  9. Thanks for the photo and the update for the installer. Its very kind of you to remember that I have also bought the lock :) On a side note, is your main door a new one? My main door is still in good condition but the door frame is looking quite worn out and I am advised that door frame needs to be change along with the fire-rated door.

Just trying to see if I have other options.

i also bought the 910 model but i added few more tags so its bit more exp and i get a contact for locksmith off qoo10 page, he is Mr lim and and was very meticulous when installing and brief me on how to use. its very very easy. He even showed me how to test if my thumbprint registration is working by pressing the sensor so i make sure it is all working (if not kena lock out as some users say) :good:

  10. I have to agree with you on this. This blog has been amazing and people are kind and helpful.and it is wrong to decide what is good and bad as long as they like it..,) I have gain lots of information and short cuts to the renovation because of the people here who are willing to share.

I have brick wall too so I have join the crowd as well . And I have bought my hob because someone posted their purchase and I like it and I asked them for reference so aboslutely with you on this.

Well said and I apologise for sounding like offstandish. We all know what makes a home and it's definitely not the renovation, it just add to the joy of owning a home ;)so let's go back to renovating our little nest

    TB Hansgrohe are also MIG.

There's nothing wrong with people preferring brands. Just because a lot of them are buying it now doesn't mean they didn't know of it in the past.

A lot of my neighbors use Hansgrohe and Grohe in their parents' homes so they use it in their new homes.

Others have no chance of choosing the fixtures so decided to splurge on good ones for their homes.

I understand that a lot of T Blogs are similar, but everyone is just sharing right? Having a more "different" home doesn't make anyone more superior than others or give one the right to be more judgmental. I will never do Scandinavian or Industrial doesn't mean I will bash it, I still enjoy reading their journeys and am glad they shared. The sense of community is awesome and I've had RTers over already and became friends.

But I won't say anymore la cus I don't want to come across as defensive or on a pedestal... I just was quite sad cus I always enjoyed coming here and leaving encouraging comments and help to others just as many have done for me and others in the past - even if a lot just ask and don't reply - the community has still been awesome.

Have a good journey renovating everyone!

  12. Very interesting topic because that was exactly what went through my mind when I started reading the t blog a few months ago. Everyone with BTO and everyone doing scandi, industrial and then finally because they are buying everything from TB it becomes scandi-dustrial or whatever.

I do appreciate all the input etc but practically everyone bought grohe and hansgrohe from TB which I bought the Germany ones for my home 8 years ago and not many people used it then.I told myself this time round buy any brand also can but grohe because if you visit somebody's house it's probably a grohe :)

The point is, whatever rocks your boat but it's really it important to have a home which reflects your personality . That said, there are a few cool homes in this blog and I love them
