  1. hi wu ming, nope..in the end they did not do anything to minimise the grain. the pic is from my kitchen cabinet by the way. the color is greyish so against the wood base is quite clearly seen. sometimes we do not have any choice, cos they say 'its like tat' and we have to accept it. for eg, after comparing with my current home, i complained about some of the works done, and i heard the supplier in charge is angry that i made tat remark, and even say if i can find someone else doing it better, they will willingly remove the work if I am not satisfied. my rectifications is 99% done, only wait till this sat then considered complete handover. but i say this for EI, their tiling works is very good.
  2. hi, the abs is mentioned by another forumner, not me anyway i have attached a pic from my kitchen cabinet that shows the wood grain gap between the trimmings. im sure some of you will say "its no big deal", but its just tat i did not expect it. the good thing is they redo some parts of my WIW, and i have accepted that part. i guess thats the solution. so far have not handover yet, as they are some other minor stuffs to touch up.
  3. hi phoenix, i didn take any pics on the WIW before the rectification. now they have redo the finishing and it is ok.
  4. hi watercooler, im so glad your reno went so well for u.. now i am affirmative that i am the suay one.. somehow or rather i always managed to find areas n issues for rectification..it seems never ending... i dont think im picky.. maybe i have expected too much and set too high standards for them.. hopefully by the handover, i wont find any more things to rectify. god bless me.
  5. some updates on my reno. spoken to ID and had iron out my unhappiness on the carpentry. she reschedule her workers to rectify the problems and so far it has been satisfactory. overall still satisfied, am looking forward to handover, i'll probably post some pics then
  6. hi oonik grl, im sorry abt wat happened, but i think u should post the details of your ex ID so that everyone will know, no need to by PM. its not slandering or badmouthing, this is the truth and everyone should know. forum is for sharing. and its certainly not against the rules for sharing the truth.
  7. thanks for your reply. i dont think i can accept that...now am finding ways to rectify it..
  8. can i check with you guys whose house is done up by EI. for all the cabinet edges, are you able to see the narrow wood color grain at the edge? thanks.
  9. this afternoon, i went to my new house for a more thorough look at the carpentry. found more unsatisfied finishings..worst thing, they actually use the thin plywood meant for back of cupboard to use as base of the drawer for WIW!! how can any carpenter do such shabby job?? make me faint 2nd time+puke on spot.. is this their standard or am i the suay one? haiz..
  10. hi my ID is zann. for the lightings, you have to be present when they fix it so that you can decide on the position. if after fixing you think its not nice, you still can request them to change.
  11. my new house is currently renovated by EI, although there were small glitches here and there, those can still be resolved, however the WIW and other carpentry works really cannot make it. I almost fainted when i saw the supposedly "good worksmanship". however tiling and electrical, lightings works are ok.
