  1. Your experience is similar to mine. Totally understand your frustration. The reno for my new condo was supposed to complete on 21 Nov. Until today, still cannot handover. We started chasing my id in early Dec 2015 when we spotted serious worksmanship problem and we wanted to move in before Christmas. Imagine huge tear on the laminate of my girl's platform bed, my shoe cabinet, bubbles on my tv console laminate..and the list goes on. Feedback to the ID and he only said noted. The ID didnt turn up for 3 pre-arranged meetings, citing personal problem to resolve. We even had to talk to the contractors ourselves at one of the mtg because he didnt turn up. Recently I threatened to go to CASE, take legal suit against him and also shame him on social media if he still cannot get all the defects fixed. That probably made him wake up a bit and started to have a closer monitoring of the progress. I also harrass him almost everyday abt the progress nw. I have missed my revised timeline to shift in for CNY and keeping my fingers crossed that everything will complete soon. Sorry but I think at some point we need to decide when enough is enough and take action against the ID. That would probably mean we hv to engage another id/contractor to take over the job. But when I do that, I will make sure the ID and his company suffers too.
  2. Hi all I'm having problem with my interior designer, in particular, the worksmanship of the carpentry. I've chosen high gloss white laminate for my tv console backdrop and high gloss black laminate for my tv console tabletop. When I was choosing material, I specifically asked the ID whether the material will cause obvious unevenness. He guaranteed that the material we chose was a thick laminate and wont be uneven. But when the tv console was done up, the unevenness and 'bubbles' on the surface was sooo obvious. (Not sure hw to attach a photo here) Feedback to my ID and he said he will talk to the contractor. After abt 1 month and many chaser calls, my ID replied saying that the contractor said 'it's like that one'. I refused to accept this. I told him if needed, we should get a 2nd opinion from another indepedant contractor to assess if it's a worksmanship problem or material problem. But where can I get such service?
