Yes, reno in Dec have a lot of delays.... some more, right now i have a defect cement screeding done by the HDB contractors... they have done the hacking off of the cement screeding today. and i would very much appreciate that they can redo the cement screeding by this week. if not...... hope that yours will be really ready by the expected date! oh, can we go your unit to kpo kpo this weekend?? hahaha! If that is really the valuation of a 4rm unit now..... i'm sure they offer much much higher now with that price.

upon collecting keys, u shld have been asked to go to the 2nd floor of hdb hub to make payment for SP Powers..and att he same time, they should have also arranged a date with you to turn on the elcectrical & water supply. if u did not have the above, strange. call up hdb tomorrow.

Hi shercjw, welcome to renotalk! yuppie.... i am working very hard everyday going thru the forum and see how i can go abt doing my house.... but the more i see the more ideas i have for my new home and more confusing.... hahahah..... yup, it can be confusing if you read more. but i think just be focus on what you want, esp what theme are you look for. talk to your contractor or ID abt it. I'm sure after some discussion you'll have a better pic how to go abt doing it. tot of adding wallpaper to my featured wall and househole shelter.... but i think its gonna cost a bomb... anyone also doing wallpaper to your featured wall and household shelter?? can recommend and advice? Thanks!! yes, wallpaper can be a bit ex. also depends on what design and brand you are intending to take brand like Pergo....etc.... haha. forget some of the brands liao. or maybe you can try to ask your ID to give your for free like what M&M suggest. hehe! but why wallpaper for bomb shelter room?? saw ms_white pics of her toilets and featured wall..... superb nice lae.... was wondering whether i can change the colour of the toilets wall tiles without hacking down the tiles??? Super expensive if i were to hack them down.... and i tot i saw someone in this forum saying we CANT hack the wall and floor tiles??? under HDB rules you can't hack the wall tiles yet, wait till 3 yrs later ba. but you can overlay them if you find them ugly. but overlaying cost a bit more also. heard from zanie98 that one of the shortlisted IDs have ideas on how to covering the tiles that HDB supply to save cost. anyone also changing the WC and basin?? Or we CANT change them??? i feel that the basin is too near the WC.... maybe will change the basin to those nicer one (like hotels kind) if i can do something to the wall of the toilets..... yes, you can change the WC and the basin to suit your style. and if you feels that the basin is too near to the WC, you can always ask your ID to do a service for you to shift the basin further away. so if you have the budget, overlay the wall and change the basins la.

finally can start work!! must bring us up to view k. hehe! alister checked with his ID and was advised the pipings have to be rerun if it's installed in toilet. the existing pipings are already done by hdb. so we'll still install in the kitchen. anyway, toilet has a lot of moisture which will speed up the rust on the external metal casing. ur ID rerun FOC? ya, imperial too exp. $2199...shiong! which dining/chair did u purchase from them and how much? we're also looking at the dining. have not purchased but will likely get electrolux 5.5kg front load. if u're doing the base, 2ft x 2ft will suffice. electrolux size pretty standard, unlike top load.

hi Happy!, my ID did a fast and rather good job for me! hehe!

u're right..they've scaled down on the shop size and a lot of Akira tv indeed..but they definitely did not scale down on the products. dino & ms_white went in with their list of items and got the lady boss to scan down the prices one by one. Tai Sin's 1st impression given by one of the salesman was actually pretty good...but this evening's sales auntie (not the boss), cannot make it. again, it depends on luck! what matters most now is indeed price... *pocket big hole*

its already stated in the wty card... under the "THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT COVERED THIS WARRANTY" clause n) DEAD PIXEL OR THE BURNT MARKS. i see that i dui.... if not i'll stick with my purchase from Courts....

that store has been there for many many years, it's not a new joint. u could have mistaken..or perhaps after u moved out, it was opened. it's definitely more than 10yrs as my wife-to-be grew up in this precinct too. If any1 got time, can try check out e neighbourhood store (4 sty blk, beside flower shop) over beside lor 5 market. Used to be seling cheap yrs bak. -->> what's selling over there? hi bethel, when did u get ur tv? $2,099 include extension of 2yr wty? we purchased ours last mth @ $2,199 also from Best Denki. chrispy, u might want to take note on a point which i overlooked. Courts may be offering their tv prices slightly more expensive ($100-$200 more) than Best Denki, they cover DEAD PIXELS issue which Samsung's warranty & Best Denki's extended wty doesn't. now i'm praying our tv comes in a complete, no defects package... *cross fingers* Dead pixels can drive you up the wall...to me or rather...

we've changed to 37R81 cos 40 for our living room is too big...plus we're sitting quite close to the tv. dun thing we'll have enough time to complete watching the entire screen before it moves to the next scene! our prev purchase was 40R71BAX..but R81 got Movie Plus! Good for me when watching SOCCER..... !! sure! just let me know. we're there almost everyday now...hahaha!! weekend is most ideal lah. oh ok. will just stick with the original plan then...hehe! thanks!

hi a_star! my ID tries to work within my budget and concept. think these 2 points are stepping stone to know what you want for your hse reno. after knowing what concept you like, he can more or less draft out and quote to suit your budget. and its impt that he breakdowns the quotation or itemised everything for you. the quotation will be more organised and will be easy for you to compare with others, or take out items that you dun want. this will more or less minimise the hidden cost. also ask for which type of material, grade, price range the ID will be providing base on his quotation. if can, try not to let the ID know your maximum budget, have some allowance, say ard 5k. ultimately, you must feel comfortable enough to trust him, maybe have to trust a bit of your instinct. hehe! at least that's what i feel abt my ID at the moment and he did what i mention above. All the best for you in looking for an ID~!

hi applefreak, i'm browsing thru your blog, wow....its really a long one! heehee! see that your kitchen cabinet is install with blum system right? do you install in your bedroom wardrobe? oh yeah, you said your kitchen cost abt $1k? that dun include the blum system right? i went to Ikea 2 days ago, i think they have this anti-slam door hinges and anti-slam for drawers. you know abt it??

wow, that's good news! now, i'm having a problem with my fridge location....i can't open the fridge door more than 90 degrees....sianz..... hmm.....its a good idea to place it in the bathroom. already hoping that we can install it in the bathroom. but i tot since the piping has already done up, it can only be install in the kitchen. but alister, if we are getting joven storage heater, the exterior is not stainless cover le. install in bathroom, the exterior might rust due to the moist in the near future. what time are you going to your new hse today??
-
hi, gadgetman and s_pear, what time are you guys going to your respective new hse today?? can i go kpkp also? want to look at your cabinet and laminated flooring!

Hello, Alister mention abt taking off the base of the fridge and washing machine keep me thinking also last night. hehe.... afterall, its quite true that most ppl nowadays, which include me, less likely will wash the kitchen, or wash it often. is the reason to have the base for fridge and washing machine during washing of kitchen floor to protect the fridge and washing machine? from rusting? but actually my ID has already done up the base for the fridge and washing maching, was thinking if let say i did think of what alister mention, i may still save up a bit. hehe. but den, i dun think having the base will be expensive la.... anyway, our kitchen is not very big, kitchen cabinet will be "fix".and some more i think we still need to have some drainage piping for the mashing machine huh? so most likely the washing machine has to have a "rather fix" place. my base for fridge and washing machine is abt 2ft by 2ft. this size will be safe for non top load washing machine, cos their size is quite standard, unless you are going for top load washing machine, the size will varies. as for fridge, i think the size will be big enough la...but i think if going to change to a bigger fridge, there may be some problems. anyway, it depends on your cabinet design also. just my tots. !!
