  1. Here -- I can only find a small picture.
  2. Hey hey hey .. I also need to take vacation from the forum. 'Slamming' is your choice of word -- not mine ... but not going to spend time debating that! I'm happy with the digital locks - I can't imagine bringing out keys again. Best value if I were ever to get one for next relative to poison ..... the Gateman V20; leave the nice existing lock in place, and just install above it for the convenience! Where is that pic again......
  3. I am using Samsung SHS-5120. It uses 4 batteries! I had to open up the lock just to be sure of what you said (is incorrect)!
  4. Was looking for the difference between the hook and non-hook version and came across this site: Hook version provides better protection against crow-bar force entry? Gateman V20 installation -- did anyone try registering using a credit card? ... the translation is not quite comprehensible
  5. Victor, The group buy has ended. Please do contact the vendor directly, I believe his price is still unbeatable even without the discount PS. Perhaps you can own/start a new group buy by liasing with the vendor , but check the Korean Won trends (still going up or down?); waiting too long may erode the discount you secure.
  6. Yale bought over Gateman (I think); you pay double the price for the same Gateman's engineering etc, for Yale's branding. Src: just google ! Yale GATEMAN - unlock your life with the latest technology Enjoy the most advanced lock and release all your worries on locking. With more than a century of history, Yale has been one of the most recognized brands in the lock industry. Lock itself has been developed remarkably and Yale has always stood on the top of this innovation. Starting from 2002, GATEMAN’s revolution in Korea is still on going. GATEMAN has transferred the concept of the lock from professionals’ range to common end-users’. This has led a boom that individual house owners choose a specific lock which is GATEMAN to change. Until now, more than 2.5 million GATEMANs have been sold alone in Korea and this proves it is the most famous digital door lock brand in the residential sector. Now, the two become one as Yale GATEMAN. With remarkable legacies from both mechanical and digital technologies that each company has successfully managed, The Yale GATEMAN series would make you meet a whole different level of the lock. The future of locking is already here and ready for use. Get rid of all your concerns regarding the security of your home and use the Yale GATEMAN digital door lock to unlock the door to the potential of your life. Unlock your life!
  7. Quite a beautiful lock; V100. Repost the picture!
  8. I noticed in the picture they already said "Gateman locks"; so why not just get real Gateman at half price? or two real Gateman at same price. Be the first in Singapore to install two digital locks on one door
  9. If you need it - just do it with Yale or Gateman; I think you are oversold on branding. The market dynamics are changed with the internet and ebay and amazon etc. leverage it to your advantage. Just do it!
  10. Last call .... Dextrox82 and all group buyers! Whether meet or not our obligation of 10 units group-buy (both seller and me lost track completely - or don't know how to track which one comes from the original list and those add on), we agreed to make it simple. Group buy applies till this Wednesday Feb 3rd midnite. , anything not concluded by then sorry -- cos seller says group buy eats into a healthy business (margins) - for an already good price. Interested parties, see post #63 for instructions, remember till Wed midnite. Then pricing back to normal (on ebay); and someone can arrange next group buy / talk to seller.
  11. I 'kay-poh' ask the seller. He says $180 to install lock (for samsung and gateman's); he also said his is still cheapest and the best'est (cos his company install so many) - that he offers pay only if it fits guarantee (well if you buy from him lah!). My calculation: lock and install from different vendors => more expensive. You do the maths.
  12. No lah -- those pictures I simply google'd to show rim and mortise locks; they don't represent what is available in Singapore market! F100 - I think still 'lord of the digital locks' lah. No -- I did not mention that can install on gates. It cannot for sure -- well 100% not on my metal gate! Have you installed?
  13. SHS-6020 looks like an upgraded model to the SHS-5120 I have; a lot more 'silver' for those who wants it. The SHS-5120 has a lot more black.
  14. Gateman V100 .... this one quite nice too; I think would be similar to my current (fingerprint less) Samsung SHS-5120.
  15. I'm two short (or thereabout ) ; though most of us have installed. The seller has Samsung and Gateman locks. To help narrow down the options, the below may help - choosing if mortise or rim lock - choosing if finger print access is needed (if yes, only the Gateman's) The group buyers seems to lock in on Gateman's F100 (mortise), but there is the F10, V10 (rim models) as well. The F's has biometrics ie fingerprint. Will post some pics but you can google too.
  16. Can give the group-buy seller a call to see if he is willing. Follow post #63.
  17. I don't think PSB approve our safety/security but it must be approving something based on the lock. I'm just curious what PSB tested on for a well-accepted digital door lock with a big market share in Korea ~50% of digital door purchases (claim on their web site). That said, it is a big amount to fork out for the peace of mind. (I'm not doubting your requirements - but it does beg the question on exactly what the PSB certification really mean to us - other than a sticker?)
  18. Which part do you mean by mortise? The whole thing or just the bolts? I'm not sure if thieves and robbers will know that the Yale lock has bigger 'mortise' than a Gateman's. I guess if they plan to get into your house, they will pry it open with a crow bar - and I am not sure if the 'size ' (hidden) is a deterrent. That said, I haven't got the opportunity to see if a crow bar will fail with a bigger 'mortise'; so peace of mind maybe worth the big price. BTW, how much more bigger is the "mortise"?
  19. Melvin, are you comparing "more security" with: a) traditional locks <-------------- I do believe digital door lock is more secure (you can't pick a lock, whereas if you google around and on youtube, it is interesting to see how a lock can be picked and I saw some HK/China online sites selling door picking tool sets). b) within the range of digital door locks? <---------------- I think fingerprint would be more secure in the overall sense (though RFID card is as 'secure' as a traditional key).
  20. Gatemen F100. A picture is way cooler than description. :-)
  21. I think the digital door lock will get as common as a TV in Singapore (well, almost). Enjoy while it is not - and you can "top up" coolness by getting a remote control too.
  22. If you always lock the metal gates every time you leave the house, I think it would defeat the purpose of installing a digital door lock for the wooden door. If it is for additional security that you lock the metal gate, consider my (not so) crazy idea of installing a rim lock and a mortise lock... yes... two locks . You can program one of them to manual-lock (mimicking metal gate) and the other auto-lock (for the convenience). [ I guess you can leave the metal gate there for sentimental reasons or remove it ] If nothing else, I am sure it would be a conversational (controversial?) topic when your friends/relatives visit. PS. I think for a harden criminal eyeing your house, you need more than locks.
