  1. Close up of the sofa in the living room. Still need a couple of finishing touches to complete the living room, such as a carpet. Anyone with good recommendations for affordable and good carpet, please let me know.
  2. negative. i didn't do a pelmet for the curtain. while the pelmet is normally used to conceal curtain fixtures, it wasn't necessary (and probably not as nice) in this case because: 1. the top of the curtain touches the ceiling and thus, conceals the curtain tracks (in the drawn/closed position). 2. the 3/4 length windows have (some sort of) casement windows on top. if i asked my contractor to build a pelmet, the windows will feel like being chopped off when the curtains are opened (and it's quite a visual statement). between the windows being chopped off and the curtain tracks, i rather have the curtain track because it won't create any sort of visual impact. your eyes most probably won't even notice the tracks being there.
  3. Master bedroom toilet. 1. Original HDB version. 2. Upgraded draft version. 3. Final version.
  4. Common toilet: WC. Very little renovation done to the common toilet. With the exception of the bidet spray, the WC area is pretty much the same water saving thingy. Shower and basin area.
  5. you can take a look at the mock up set up of the cleanup system at songcho at kallang leisure park. it's probably the best system, but, the cost of 1 system is probably the total cost for most people entire renovation.
  6. i'm using an induction hob. power consumption is definitely on the high side, so 15amp cables are required. no choice, if you really want the induction or vitroceramic hob. alternatively, brandt has 1 2-burner induction hob that would fit a 13amp plug. can't remember the model, but you can find out from their website.
  7. stay tune for the next set of photos (once i get round to taking them) - the before, after, and after after btw, anyone knows where to get good (and affordable/cheap) carpets? i miss jackson's sale previously
  8. my dining area... sticking with the basic theme again - white, black and grey, and complete with glass/stainless steel. with general lighting on (and dining light off). with dining light on.
  9. my humble, basic kitchen. hoob, hod, backsplash, etc. kitchen, like the rest of the house, is mainly white, black and grey - accented by dashes of orange/red, and finished up with glass/stainless steel.
  10. some sneak pics. to recap: my kitchen - work in progress. after a long and arduous renovation: my kitchen - completed.
  11. my contractor is jason, aka jaskel on renotalk. his contact details are available on his website.
  12. paiseh, shifting house, therefore, didn't have my internet set up. now busy packing, once that's done, will take some pictures and post them up
  13. As of today, most (if not all) of the renovation has been completed. Some minor rectifications required and some that I can live with. Pictures to follow.
  14. Don't think many will do that. There's a drain trap in the service yard which you have to think about (can't cover that up). Also, got to worry about waterproofing the floor, etc. My contractor doesn't recommend it, neither do I.
  15. now i understand what alex and jason meant by having to shift the same fridge 2x. guess what, besides having similar fridge model, we have similar washing machine model too
  16. if you want the ultimate cool clock, you can consider the qlocktwo. unfortunately, the price is too shocking to be listed here.
