  1. congrats ymjp... looks fantastic.
  2. @Ely1: That store really has a lot of cool stuff... the only reason I don't go there more often is cuz they're allll the way at bukit batok... @footprint: thanks! any cushion places to recommend?
  3. hello yuene! what time is the party on 14 may? I think i can only make it after 4pm.
  4. wow. Haven't been here for a while... Renotalk sure has changed! I quite like this updated look... Hope everyone is feeling happy and rejuvenated after this long weekend! How I wished I had another day... This weekend was pretty much spent unboxing and tidying up stuff... I've moved for almost a month and many things still have not found the right places to be... guess this is gonna take a while to get everything nice and neat. Let's look at some pictures now shall we? Pardon the mess! boxes! living room sofa area grande papilio. I need to find a nicer cushion for this!
  5. @Neo: I like that Karlsson clock! Where did u get it?
  6. LOL. Poo. That's hilarious. Ah your place is reallly gorgeous. I hope you're loving it. Btw, which one is the armchair u got from Like That One?
  7. That's really pretty! Where did u get the letters from?
  8. Hi marshmallow! Yeah there's a reason why allll the showrooms put the dryer on top and not the washing machine! We've strapped down the WM to the table so that it wouldn't vibrate off the table.... but it's still scary to use. Need another solution for that!
  9. Hey may dream... did u get a chance to try the Getha mattresses yet?
  10. Oh hello that washing machine looks familiar. I have a similar one with a small LCD screen which displays the remaining time of the load. I think it's a great machine! My clothes come up less crumpled than my previous top load (which is 20 yrs old btw). Sorry to hear about the trouble you went through with the tap adaptors... if only I had paid attention to your blog earlier I would have saved you a lot of trouble cuz I could have told you to get exactly what you needed. However, everything else seems to be going smoothly! When are you intending to move in?
  11. I agree that halogen is very hot. The trick is to put halogen in places where people won't be lingering for a long time Like in front on the tv console. Corridors. Display areas. The area with the sofa I suggest LEDs cuz they kinda sorta look like halogen and emit negligible heat. Still not as nice as halogen though cuz the ones we get in Singapore use small led modules with cheap and stupid lenses. If you can afford it get the LED ceiling lights from Occhio. They're so beautiful. And really nice light quality.
  12. We've finally moved in! Well it's been about a week. There have been even more issues with leaks in the bathrooms but it's all resolved now. Some of the furniture is not in yet... like 2 beds from Sanctuary Dian. Lamps. Balcony stuff. Some chairs. It's not showflat condition yet! I think the Getha mattresses are the best buy of the reno. We have 3 in the house. They are extremely comfortable to sleep on... much better than my old mattress. Highly recommended!! Fyi, the dishwasher is awesome. However, it does take 1.5 hours to do what I can normally do in about 20mins. haha. But I hate dishwashing so it's awesome. And for people who are thinking of doing what I did and putting the washing machine on a table, DO NOT DO THAT. Yet. When the machine is spin drying the clothes the whole table will vibrate like crazy. We're thinking of getting reinforcements for the table... like a cross brace or something. Right now it's a little scary. We also have mio tv now and they have cantonese drama on demand! omg how come I never knew about that. It's freakin awesome. Will put pictures up once the flat is in a showable condition!
  13. Hi Ely! You're making good progress on the reno I'm looking at the lighting points and I have some comments... I think you have way too many downlights in the living and dining rooms. Like, way too many, I personally think you need about 6 in the living and 4 in the dining... less lights but get the 26W ones. Makes the ceiling less cluttered... but maybe you like things super bright. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it's possible to dim PLC lights? If you want a cosy feel you should definitely replace the PLC with halogen, just because the light effect is 2000000 times better (but that's my personal preference). Plus halogen is dimmable. Also, the light in the toilet. I think the point should be above the sink rather than above the toilet bowl... makes more sense that way. Hope everything will go smoothly for u.
  14. isn't concrete kinda heavy? you may want to check the weight load of your floor before going through with it... may not be feasible. or you can just get some concrete wallpaper instead?
