Hi neighbors, i just went back SG early this morning and quick quick collected the KEYS!!!! after signed many many docs at the hub. Then quick quick went to new house to check it out. To my surprise, many things have been done by HDB, even the showers in both toilets!! only things left are: flooring and kitching and waredrobes.... Some old guys standing at the BLK79 approched me for reno work. Their quotes for the flooring + Kitching+ 2 WDs are ard 10~13K. Evry basic things, no feature design. Is this quote fair enough? Is wooden with Laminates good for whole unit flooring? Thanks for sharing.

Hi shay_d, thanks for ur advice. But the point is we will only be able to back SG for a short while to settle paper works with HDB, say 1 week time. So I intend to fix most of the things before then to save time. I am not picky abt the reno, because i'll rent out it during our absence.

Hi, if anyone know good and cheap reno contractor, please give me a note at "simeonfeng@yahoo.com". I'd like to start the reno once we collect the key. The problem is both me and wife are staying in Shanghai, so nobody can go down to discuss with contractors face to face.

I got a mail from HDB for load appl matters, then I start to search for info. Our flat is in 79E 95m2. Some questions: 1. anyone knows how long it takes from the loan approval to key collection? 2. my wife and i are stationed overseas right now. we may need to plan to go back for key collection if it is a must to be present at HDB. Is it a must? 3. any idea for the reno budget for the whole unit? for an average standard. I plan to rent it out since we are not in SG. + basic furniture (maybe can get 2nd whole set will be best) 4. any idea about the time of such a renovation? Must I or appint sb to oversee the process from start to end? thanks for sharing exp.
