  2. Hi Droplets we the ppl jacky was refering to... I had the same problem too...we changed our WC 3 times and we still face the same prob...so rite now we bought air freshener spray, aromatherapy which doesnt help that much...if ur plumber solves the issue, plsss let me know... i agree with you tht its so frustrating to return home and when u walk pass ur door the smell wanna make u faint... ps- thanks jacky for the info...
  3. Hi Jacky ya..laminated with abs trimming -> according to the contractor...overall ok lor..just that he mounted the door handle abit slanted...for the overall workmanship i guess u come by and have a look..im not sure how to rate the workmanship hehe...just happy that its black... as for the existing lockset..i tink can use back but i dun think its nice with black so we changed it..prefer the stainless steel look... as waht gui99 say- we have to clean the door quite often hehe
  4. Hi all Didnt get to join the gathering ...missed again!! mayb next time..hoe you guyz had a great time Hi Tensionz: Reno completed..just minor minor things to do up...such as shelving for bomb shelter, glass panel to put on top of the half wall/divider in MBR and furniture. All this will be done bit by bit...now no budget...hehe Hi Carelinwen: Yeah we did the door finally!!! But not as nice as Gui99..haiz...we wanted the laminates with design but expensive so we got the plain black...simple lor...we went to upper changi to buy the door handle and lock- damage is $185..for mine the sides of the door is laminated with ABS trimming....feel free to drop by my place...not sure if you have my number ...will PM u...
  5. Hi Neighbours How are you??? Been quite some time since i read the thread...didnt realize i missed so much..too many pages to read liao...and new neighbours- hi all!! we've been so busy with work, future in laws, frenz etc etc coming by on every weekend...and our next headache..wedding prep... Well.. 1. Tis Sunday gathering... i guess no more tickets or coupons...any idea if we could join without the tickets and coupons?? would love to catch up with yall... 2. Almondust: Read abt the smoking issue...for awhile i thought it was us...phew!!!! me and FH are smokers...while reading I was trying to reacap if i did throw ash by the window..but for sure we never throw the cigg butt down the window coz we never do that...... and im not too sure if we cause such inconvenience to our neighbours.. Initially we do not want to smoke in the house but outside the house. When our neighbour start to move in we saw that they have a newborn baby and since our doors are very close to one another we decide to smoke only in the kitchen coz we dun want our rooms to smell of cigg smoke... from what i could remember we never throw the ashes down the window and if we did we didnt mean it...(if you're a smoker you will understand) sometimes you just 'tap' the cigg ash wherever convenient. so from my point of view you shld speak to them in a nice way they might not realize that the ash are flying to ur hse... hmm hopefully we are not causing such things to our neighbours... 3. groovygenie: hope u've resolved ur issues... 4. Jacky: cant wait to see completion of ur reno!! 5. Meepok/babymaro: we are going to laminate our door!! cant stand the color of our main door...e contractor quoted us $350 excluding new door handle and lock (plain matt laminate without design). got the contact from Jacky. All neighbours ive met before- if you remember me pls do say hi if i didnt when we bump into each other...im bad at remembering faces and when i walk i very blurr one....so pls excuse me..didnt mean to be rude or whatever...hehe
  6. hi coco... didnt receive the email...if its sent yesterday i might have deleted the emails in spam...can u resent?? sorry ya...thks!!!
  7. Hi grooviegenie... if im not wrong the pipings run fm the kitchen to the to the bathroom concealed under the boxed up wall then mounted on the wall....then the pipings in the kitchen is concealed with notice board. i will be at my unit today after 6pm...msg me if u wanna drop by... anyonbe knows when is the mass activation for scv and how do we know when they will be doing it and how do we inform them we wld like the activation during the mass activation...since its FOC... for those using off white homo tiles and wld like to identify scratches ... fm my experience you can't see it during the day...at night, switch on the white lights and you will be able to see if theres many scratches or not...of coz minor scratches its ok la...but if theres too many minor scratches its really sore to the eyes..hehe anyway they rectify it by engaging specialist doing the polishing..just like those workers using big machines and going ard shopping malls polishing the floor...they brought the machine up and spent more than half a day polishing...am happy now !!!!!!!
  8. tnks to gui99 for showing us his unit today...very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i like his door, feature wall and sofa!!!!
  9. Anyone using off white homo tiles?? Would like to take a look if the end product/workmanship is abt the same...im still stuck with the scratches issues and the finishing after the chemical wash....

I have changed it to acrylic panel... those interested can drop by my unit to take a look then i can pass contact or pm me ur email add i can email you the picture to let u see how it looks....sorry i didnt post pic here coz i forgotten how to .... looks much better after replacement...and its cheap!! $29 or $32 for both toilets...i cant remember coz no receipt given so that they could waive the gst..hehe...in fact its now like a light box!!

  17. Hi Neighbours... Wow a lot of reno completion soon...can I join in the hse hopping to Yeoman, Coco_myb, etc etc... Meowie: Thanks for dropping by my unit to look at the scratches..once again i envy ur island and ur refrigerator!!!! And pls ignore TPY!! To all neighbours- its really great knowing each other and all the help and advice during the process of my reno...unfortunately some ppl dun see the importance of networking....it goes a long way.....it has been a great experience with the neighbours of 79ers....friendly and helpful ppl...unlike some.... nowadays not many have this kind of 'neighbourship spirit' ....many live in closed doors not knowing wahts happening ard the neighbourhood..or who their neighbours are... anyway for a start for tomorow hse hopping shall we add on to the list of who is keen for tomorrow hse hopping... PS: i have to be at my unit abt 3pm - installation of rollerblind.... Date:10/05/08 Time: Attendees: Liana79B
  18. Hi all thanks for the advice...and yes deep in my heart i cant accept that kind of work standard, but at the same time i dun want to be unreasonable, at least with all ur advices i can confirm that its possible to reject that kind of defects juz in case ID say its normal i can fight back Meowie, u confirmed coming by my place tomorrow at 6plus to take a look rite?? pls sms me to confirm...others who wanna pop by pls feel free to come by and give feedbacks..thks!!
  19. Hi Neighbours.... In case ur wondering...im the one with the scratches problem...hehe..thanks Meowie for asking on my behalf... Im close to handover and things start to turn out really bad...frustrating...in fact i argued with my designer abt this...im still holding on to the final payment... Im not sure if im too 'difficult' or petty over the scratches issues but i felt that ive not moved in yet so why shld i accept those scratches when it can be prevented from the start...the workers did not care abt the tiles but i do coz we are paying for it!! According to them they changed some of the tiles already but i still see a lot of scratches...my living room tiles is off white glossy so the scratches are more visible under light reflection...as for the laminates i can use my nails and feel the deep scratches... and i felt that the final paint job is not that gd either but im not sure if this is standard or what is the standard. the designer rectified the wardrobe door and tho its better im not sure if it us acceptable coz i have a 50/50 feeling that its not rite....haiz...headache!! moral of story: u either have headache and frustration at the beginning of reno or middle or towards end....
  20. Hi Ryuki, The neighbours have few lighting shops they recommended...i cant remember the names but one thing for sure I had extremely bad experience from the lighting shops i bought my lights from...L* Lighting & Thomp***Lighting in Shaw Balestier...I was lazy to shop ard for lights thats how i ended buying fm these 2 shops. Their shop is quite big and and near to my current place so I was lazy to source around ....But service is terrible and they are soooo rude...Before purchase they are sooo nice after that When u decide to get lights at a particular shop do remember to ask if they do replacement if the bulb/ballas or holder is spoilt etc etc? within how many days?? they deliver or u will have to send?? whats their after service like?? it can be really frustrating!! up to today im having problems with the lights!! eeerrrghhh...dun know who do i blame or whos fault - electrician or the product!!
  21.
