  3. ya loh i also think very difficult to tahan one...but the only date we can open the door is on sunday so die die also must at least tahan for 2 days. really look forward to starting the reno. so right now all i can do is wait. will try to update pics once i got the key. but anyway i really appreciate your advices. anyway i went to choose my tiles again. the first time we forgot about the tiles for the balcony. and today we finally done with the tiles thing. so now at least got one thing done. as for the 3d drawings, they will be needing some amendments. but so far we really appreciate what my id have done for us. he proposed a lot of ideas and most of them i really like. and most happy thing is the extra things that we want no need to top up. As today we were in a bargain mood, so we mentioned to him about a feature wall in the lounge area. He was supportive and agreed to brain storm about it. Best thing, no need top up. wahahah so happy. He's really cool and can see him trying hard to make this a win-win situation. Kudos to him. Again.... can't wait to start. ;P
  4. hi applefreak, thanks for ur advices... will try to get a good date to open the door. hope that i can open the door as soon as i collect my key.
  5. hi everyone, in another 1 week, i'll be collecting my keys. i have seen a lot of forummers posting the pics of their beautiful hse and i really envy u people here. i have been longing for a home of my own like all of u and after a long wait, its now finally my turn. i hope that anyone here can give me some advice after i collect my keys. heard from the old folks that we are not allow to open the door for our new flat after collecting the keys. think we need to choose a auspicious date to open the door. how true is it? did anyone here go through this? and also something i would like to find out from u all...after the key collection, we have to check for defects right? what are the things to look out for? we are actually overlaying all the wall and floor tiles for both bathroom and also plastering the wall for the kitchen. so do we still need to check on the tiles? and beside the tiles, what are the things we need to check? i have no idea at all. i appreciate anyone here can advice me on the things i need to take note when i open the door for my flat and during reno. anyway i have engaged johnny from ideal house. and will be soon starting my reno. will try to post pics when i collect my keys. really look forward to the transformation of the hse.
  6. hi kajua, i have signed with ideal house but not kenneth. i met johnny and have signed with him instead. he is great and i have confident in him. i think most of the id in ideal hse are quite good fr the reviews here. i have just signed with johnny and have choosen my tiles. he able to meet my budget unlike other ids and he always have a lot of ideas to share. i have not started my reno but very soon will be starting... so far i find him really great and have checked on his workmandship and no problem on that. you can consider ideal hse. shouldn't be a prob...
  7. hi ckoonyin, just wanted to share my experience with ideal house. i just signed with johnny fr ideal house. and we just went for our tiles selection today. overall i find him very good. the more i meet up with him the more relieved and confident i feel. and every time after the meetup, i feel so glad that i have really made a good choice in engaging him as my id. he always there to help us to save costs and i can tell you that his quote is very reasonable. he quoted me the best price with the same materials compared to other ids. don't worry...i have also checked on his workmanship at a few locations. and also i feel that he is more enthusiastic than me and my hubby. he offered us a lot of ideas and he really take time to discuss with us. we wanted to do a feature wall cum these and that...and so far all the ids that we met just proposed the most conventional way of doing my feature wall. but johnny has been straining all his brain cells to help us to attain the feature wall we want and yet impressive. but we told him that we really don't mind him doing the conventional feature wall. but he told us to give him some time so that he is able to come up with a feature wall that we want and yet impressive. kudos to him but anyway its ok if he really can't come up with the idea as i know its not easy. during the tile selection today, he even suggest to use decor wall tiles in my bathroom which cost $17 per piece, and to surprise, he didn't want us to top up for the extra costs. anyway i'll be starting my reno soon and i have absolute confidence in him. hope that soon i'm able to post pics of my hse. if you want you can try talking to him and see how... personally i really feel that he is one id that really put effort on my house, straining himself trying to save costs for us at the same time attaining the effect that we want and also providing us ideas to choose from.
  8. ya think most prob will sign with johnny. have talked to him again and reali feel that he is the best person for the job. so far i'm most comfortable with him. thx silver.
  9. ermm...i have no experience with the above except ideal house. have talked to one of the id from there called johnny.so far have went to a few id recommended by forumers and i feel most comfortable with johnny. for what i believe, ideal hse is able to stick to your budget. it can be a great surprise to some but don't be mistaken that they will have hidden cost or will not do a good job. as for so far the forumers have no complaint on that. i have saw their workmanship and personally i find them not bad, no prob on that. as for ideas, johnny from there is able to proposed me some new ideas that i find them very good. and he is always trying to help me save money on the reno due to my tight budget. so i think there's shouldn't bee any problems with ideal house in terms of their quote, workmanship and ideas. but of course you must be comfortable and have confidence with the id there who attended to you. think its better to find a id that you are comfortable, able to stick to your budget,... an id is a person you are going to work together throughout the reno. so you definitely have to be very comfortable with him. as for the other firms, hope that other forumers are able to advise you coz i have no contacts with them before. best is look at more reviews on them in the forum before you decide.
  10. i have also been to a few ids... here are my personal reviews of them. intra- expensive and don't care attitude but quite confidence with their designs chiew interior- most expensive quote that i received art & thots- a bit expensive and no confidence with the id a & d- reasonable quote and ideas are not bad earnest- reasonable but no confidence in his ideas innerview- very sincere and detailed but quote a bit expensive. not able to give much ideas. lego house- a bit expensive and aggresive but id seems sincere ideal house- so far lowest quote, ideas are not bad. comfortable with him as he is able to negotiate. for a&d, earnest and ideal house, i have seen their work. check on their workmanship and find them all not bad. so far have shorlisted a & d and ideal house. but if no better offers, may most prob signed with johnny from ideal house. little biko, who is your id? i wonder is it the same id. mine is johnny.
