  1. My seem like a lot of work but the contractos will know what to do. Simple for them. Flooring near the bathroom should be tiles, not parquet. So when u replace the tiles, u can add more cement... not complicated at all.
  2. Door can be trimmed at the bottom. Ur contractor can do it for free or token fee of $10-20 per door. If you change new doors... then no problems at all.
  3. My wife said she may not be able to handle the pain all over again. Guess it will take time. We can never replace Chrissy.... she is in our wedding photo!.... But I guess eventually, we will get another dog.... when we are ready. They really bring joy and a whole new meaning in your life. I grew up with dogs.... can't imagine never owning one again....
  4. In my old place.... my top load washing machine is on the ground, electric dryer is wall mount and the chute is in between the two! Very strange meh? I don't think so.... as long as it is functional and practical. OIC.... he fell.... at least u know. It is very tragic indeed.
  5. Oh wow... sorry to hear that. That is tragic indeed. Did u ever found out what happened? Have you got another dog since then? My wife say she is not sure she can go through the pain all over again. Sigh. Ya..... esp for Babytan, she will not have this problem cause all the gas pipe will be external and visiable. On-site consultation? Hmm.... not sure.... should call them and check. Maybe give them ur floorplan and take some pictures.... they will be able to advise better that way. The dryer has sensor that will shut down the gas supply when something is wrong. There is also a main switch... for you to switch off if say you go on a long holiday. Having said that.... nothing is full proof. However gas dryer may be a new thing in Singapore, countries like Japan and US have been using it for over 20 years. So the technology is safe lah. And yes.... can do side by side.... but it would mean have to bend down to load and unload your clothes. Very toublesome leh. Better to wall mount.... but if no choice..... 55cm X 55cm wall space also don't have? Saw ur floorplan... its difficult but not impossible. Ur ID needs to be more creative.... or is he just taking the easy way out?
  6. U do know that if your block doesn't have main gas supply at all, then it is not an option for you, right? You should call up Citygas to make sure. As for costs.... there really is no comparison cause gas dryer only have one in Singapore... the 6kg Rinnai brand from Citygas. For electric dryers.... there are many brands and sizes ranging from $300+ to over 1k. As for running costs... gas dryer is suppose to be cheaper and faster.... but I have no way to compare since the last time, my electric dryer's energy consumption is part of my electric bill.
  7. Hi David, At first glance... ur place is just so amazingly spacious! Since your living area is so empty now, have u considered buying a pool table? It is good clean fun. Doesn't matter if you and your friends are good at it or not, everyone can play and have a nice chat at the same time. You can also install a bar counter next to it.... making it a nice place to hang out and entertain. Just a suggestion for your thoughts.
  8. Did yours die of old age? Chrissy was two months shy of four years old. I thought I resolved her liver problems two years ago... compared to then, she was healthier and looks more fit. But I guess all I did was prolonged her life. I guess she was not meant to live long.... we did all we can do. Life still has to go on.... I have never taken my little darling girl for granted.... I guess at the end of the day... that is the only comforting thought. Anyways.... saw in the ad that Citygas is offering their dryer for $568 but it is inclusive of the $100 installation fee. Quite worthwhile in my view. Do check it out.
  9. This is my 12L stainless steel bin bought at OG for $32 (regular price). I waited for offer but it did not come. Not as cheap as $15..... but I like the design and I think it is quite value for money. FYI.
  10. Hi David... welcome to renotalk. I haven't been online for over 10 days now.... glad I still can be the first to spam. Congrats on your new home!
  11. Thanks applefreak.... but btw... Chrissy never liked other dogs... in fact... scared to death of them. She is my darling girl that loves humans. I really miss her.
  12. Thanks guys.... for you support. Guess it takes time to heal the grief. Glad that wife and I have each other over the past 10 days.
  13. Celebrating the life of my little darling girl.... Chrissy Chia..... from 11 June 2004 to 8.15pm, 10 April 2008. She has lived a very happy life. Good bye, Chrissy. Papa and Mummy will always love u...
  14. Chrissy's condition has gotten worst since this morning. By the time I was there at 12+ today, she was already semi-unconscious!! Vet say her protein level has stablised by still very low despite the protein drip. Given her past liver problems, ... to get worst so fast... her liver may have finally given up on her. There is a chance that she will not recover. I dono what to do now... it all happened so sudden...I thought I would find her better today... not like this. Chrissy has not reached 4 years old... I am so not prepared to lose her. I will go there again at 5pm.... praying for a miracle her.
  15. Hi everyone... thanks for your concern. My wife went down to Mt Pleasant earlier to see Chrissy. She says Chrissy is still weak but better last this morning. Vet say her protein level and body temp is still very low. When my wife ask when we can bring her back, they said they will usually keep patient of her condition for three days for observation! What?! Three days?? The last time Chrissy was admitted, I got her out in 21hours.... does it usually take three days?? Can anyone share your experience?? Is it necessary?.... especially when most of the time, poor Chrissy is just being locked up in a gate!! I will visit her tomorrow at 1pm... if her condition is better, I will request to discharge her. I think three 3days is too long. I can "observe" her myself and bring her to the vet again if necessary. More importantly, she will be home with us to care for her. .....
  16. It's the first place that came to my mind... since she was admitted there the last time. They also have all her records. Not much of a choice lor. !!
  17. I know....two years ago when she was admitted for a day, I spent almost $1,000! Chrissy is coming to 4 years old.
  18. Just admitted her at about 2+ today. The place have such silly visiting hours between 1-2pm and 5-7pm ONLY. I can't make it later but my wife will go down to visit her in the evening before 7pm.... I pray that she'll be well enough to discharge by then....
  19. Sigh.... My poor Chrissy has just been admitted to Mount Pleasant Animal Hospital. Vomitted 5 times last night and this morning started to have diarrhoea.... even with some blood. I went home at noon time today... only to find her so weak... she can barely lift her head. Washed her up and rushed to the Vet. Vet says she is in shock and her body temperature is way too low. Her condition is serious and they will do their best. I don't know what went wrong... she was still ok yesterday. She was admitted two years ago because she had liver problems... eversince then, we gave her only prescribed food and she was ok since. Really hope she gets better soon....
  20. Of course that can be done. But have your saw babytan's floorplan? Her washer is not against a wall... so can't wall mount dryer on top.
  21. Welcome!! You have floorplan to share? Easier to visualize with floorplan.
  22. Haha... words of wisdom. Yes... I do all my ironing. Not about husband or wife. These days, both parties work... so how can say wife must do my ironing? Besides, I have so many years of shirt ironing experience, able to iron one shirt in less than 5mins (with the help of dryer and good iron, of course), so I can easily do 12 in 1 hour. No sweat lah. In fact, I do the cooking too... while my wife wash up after. Quite a good arrangement in my view. I count myself lucky that wife doesn't ask me to iron her share!! Haha... If use stack method, then washer must be front load kind. I got friend that will insist on front load washers cause they say can wash better and use less water. Not sure true or not cause I never use front load simply because they are more expensive. If wall mount dryer, you just need to find a wall space around 60cm X 60cm... could be less depending on dryer model. Don't often see washer and dryer next to fridge but I guess there is no harm...except that for washer position, you need water inlet and outlet. Do take note. Hmm.... just went to take a look at your floorplan... yes... you could have your washer at sink area, and your dryer next to the fridge. No one said they have to be together. Only inconvenience is that you must carry your washed clothes to the dryer area. Also, dryer produces hot air... so having it away from the window may not be ideal. Have to consider. It is too late to change your kitchen design?
  23. You storage heater looks very unique... never seen that design before. Very cute actually. What is the capacity? Do you have a picture of your floorplan and/or ID drawings to share? It will help us visualize you house better.
  24. Cornice is quite an outdated concept anyway. If paint properly, the wire trunkings will not that obvious lah.
  25. You do ironing for your husband?? Thought such females don't exist anymore in the 21st century?? No wonder the husbands don't appreciate having a dryer. Make them iron the clothes... then they'll appreciate how valuable time can be saved with a small small investment. It's not much money anyways... from S$300+ to $1,000, depending on brand. Electric consumption is also not significant.... afterall, you will probably use your dryer twice a week for one and a half hour each time. The largest energy gusher is still your aircon. Nothing beats that. !!
