  1. Another "interesting" article which The State Times has no guts to report... I wonder why?? Do you, as a parent, forsake your own child whom you now perceive as weak, slow and useless, and proceed to adopt or "buy" new children who are able to give you much stronger economic viability just to keep your fat paycheck?? Makes you wonder why we, the taxpayers, are paying him a $3.5 million salary? The Singapore Solution How did a sleepy little island transform into a high-tech powerhouse in one generation? It was all in the plan. Over time, the MM says, Singaporeans have become "less hard-driving and hard-striving." This is why it is a good thing, the MM says, that the nation has welcomed so many Chinese immigrants (25 percent of the population is now foreign-born). He is aware that many Singaporeans are unhappy with the influx of immigrants, especially those educated newcomers prepared to fight for higher paying jobs. But taking a typically Darwinian stance, the MM describes the country's new subjects as "hungry," with parents who "pushed the children very hard." If native Singaporeans are falling behind because "the spurs are not stuck into the hide," that is their problem. - MM Lee Read the full article HERE "Some men change their party for the sake of their principles; others their principles for the sake of their party." - Winston Churchill
  2. The Government needs to fill up the BIG empty hole in our Reserves & CPF... FAST! ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY Nov 19, 2009 HDB property tax going up One-off rebate to cushion rise; one- and two-room owners will pay nothing HOMEOWNERS: be prepared to pay higher property taxes next year. In line with the rally in home prices, the taxman is revising upwards the value of Housing Board (HDB) homes. The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (Iras) announced on Wednesday that the annual values (AV) of all types of HDB flats will be raised with effect from Jan 1. This will mean a hike in property taxes for 2010. The property tax rate in Singapore is currently set at 10 per cent of a property's AV, although owner- occupied residential properties enjoy a concessionary 4 per cent tax rate. To soften the impact, a one-off rebate is being introduced to help HDB homeowners adjust to the increase.
  3. Owners woke up to find cars smashed By Jermyn Chow SEVERAL car owners in Telok Blangah Crescent woke up on Sunday morning to find the rear windscreens and side windows of their vehicles smashed, and CashCards and other valuables missing. The thefts happened early yesterday morning at Block 23A, a multi-storey carpark in Telok Blangah Crescent. Seven cars parked on the first floor were hit. They included makes like Toyota, Honda and Kia. The rampage is believed to have taken place overnight. A police spokesman said they are investigating the cases. Six CashCards worth more than $200, coins and accessories such as cellphone chargers were missing. It is not known if the thefts were committed by the same person. One of the victims, retiree Tan Teck Wah, 55, had parked his Kia Picanto in the multi-storey carpark at about 8pm on Saturday. On Sunday morning, at around 10, he went to the carpark with a friend, and was alerted to the thefts by other motorists. Shocked, he found that he was one of the victims. His car's rear windscreen and left window had been smashed. 'I was shocked to see that the doors were still locked and the alarm not activated,' he said. Inside the three-year-old vehicle, a CashCard, Mr Tan's Nokia phone charger and an earpiece were gone. Another victim, futures trader Tommy Ng, 57, found the rear windscreen of his black Honda Civic smashed at around the same time. Missing was his CashCard, worth about $10, coins and a penknife. The damage to the car will cost him more than $1,000. Mr Ng said he was disgusted by the smash and grab. 'I always thought that this place was safe. How are we supposed to have peace of mind leaving our cars here now?' he said. His wife, Madam Wong Siew Ling, 55, said security at the carpark had been an issue for residents since it was built five years ago. 'We started hearing residents complaining that their cars were scratched and their CashCards stolen.' The housewife said that five to six cars were hit three years ago at another multi-storey carpark in Telok Blangah. 'It can be quite scary for a quiet neighbourhood like ours to be hit by car thieves who are so vicious,' she said. When contacted, Mr Sam Tan, an MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC, expressed outrage at the thefts and said he would talk to the police about stepping up their surveillance. He said he would also approach the Housing Board to look into the feasibility of installing CCTV cameras in the carparks. Mr Tan said he would also strengthen the community patrol scheme, using resident volunteers to increase vigilance in the neighbourhood. But for now, motorists said they would have to rely on their own resources and common sense. 'I will definitely be buying more insurance for my car and be careful not to leave any valuables in the vehicle,' said 53-year-old insurance agent Jimmy Goh.
  4. I wouldn't dare ask your Masters for the $16,000 even if my life depends on it! I believe the $16,000 will be better spent for your Masters and all of their cronies & lap dogs to invest in the stock market, then donate some of it for Temasek Holdings to gamble away, the rest can be used as bonuses to enrich your Masters and those jiak liao bee Ministers, since we need to pay them more money so that they will not succumb to corruption. We would rather our estate crumble and rot for a thousand years than to ask your Masters for more money to safe-keep our neighborhood! God forbid! I can see that they are in dire need of the extra cash to live within their elite means, since many of them are staying in private housing & landed properties... their monthly maintenance cost must be sky high! Even with their salaries, undisclosed bonuses and directorship fees, I believe they need more $$$ to sustain their current keep. Why not let us, the worthless peasants, sacrifice our comfort needs for their greater good? We have the best gahmen in the world! First world standard as proclaimed loudly by many! What more can we ask? And come to think of it... with the obscene amount of money that we're paying them to lead the country... I believe they can actually perform miracles! There's no need to even bother about asking for funding and money! Just get them to sing this inspirational SONG and do a little dance... and I believe, miracles do happen!
  5. Just to share... These Minister visits are all planned... no such thing as impromptu house visits... Units to be visited have been scanned and pre-selected by the runners for them to shake hand, say hello and smile for the camera. This is to weed out "inappropriate" units which may "disrupt" or "upset" their visits, if you get my drift. You know the Gold FM 90.5 TV advert? "Hear only the good stuff!"
  6. The Singapore I know and love died along with Mr Ong Teng Cheong almost 10 years ago... this place has since lost it's very heart and soul... and the parade is just a big budget multimedia show to impress our imported talents. Similar in objective to North Korea's military parade, albeit with a bigger budget, fancy music, fireworks and the occasional pole-dancing. And now, we're being challenged by your Master to be more understanding hor! Don't complain so much or "our women will be maids in other people's countries"! Pledge ourselves as one united people? So as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for whom? I wouldn't be surprised if the day comes when non-citizens are allowed to vote as well... ha! MM Lee outlines two challenges for Singapore to undertake SINGAPORE: Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew has highlighted two challenges for Singapore to undertake in order to do well in the next five to ten years. Speaking on Thursday at the annual National Day Dinner at his Tanjong Pagar constituency, the minister mentor said Singapore can reach a new level of development, but difficulties will crop up along the way. To resolve them, the nation must always face them squarely and work together. The first challenge is integrating new citizens and permanent residents (PRs) with the local population. The speed of this process depends on the openness of Singaporeans who are born and raised here, and the willingness of new citizens to adapt and be part of the Singapore society. Mr Lee explained that without immigration, the ageing problem will be too heavy a burden for the young. Immigrants who can be integrated without upsetting the racial balance are in Singapore’s interest...
  7. I always thought the forum was a place for discussion, sharing and voicing of one's thoughts, opinions and beliefs. A petition to collectively voice out our concern for the neighbourhood seems very appropriate and in line. Regardless of whether the petition succeed or fail, it shows that there are people concerned enough with the safety and the living standards of our estate and neighbourhood to stand up and speak their mind. Trust the moral-less authority to send an obedient, internet-brigade lap dog to disrupt and create trouble instead. Typical gangsterism counter-response tactics from them anyway as expected. It goes to show how disconnected these higher mortals are from the rest of us peasants, lap dogs included. Only difference is that these dogs assume their masters will take good care of them when kingdom comes. Sadly, these dogs have been brainwashed and made to believe that they too are higher elite mortals! For when kingdom comes, they too, will be collateral damage and expendable alongside the rest of us peasants and our CPF. I bet the obedient lap dog experienced an all time high from watching the Parade and reciting the Pledge last night. "Two legs good. Four legs bad."
  8. The answer to your question is here: Sinkapore's New PM Give or take one to two seat-warmers like Mr Goh.
  9. Take no heed of the resident troublemaker lap dog sent by the Higher Elite Mortals to disrupt the lives of us 2nd class citizens & peasants. These lap dogs only know how to create discord amongst the peasants but willingly suck the toes of their masters come every Election. "What do you see?"
  10. “The world is a dangerous place. Not because of the people who are evil; but because of the people who don't do anything about it.” Albert Einstein
  11. You mean to entrust the security of our sky garden to the fellas who let a dangerous limping toilet-escapee run road to JB??? My toes are laughing! No hard feelings to the frontline boys in blue... I know it's not entirely your fault but that of your incompetent desk general masters, who only know how talk but not walk the talk. Heads will roll but most definitely not their million dollar heads! I've resigned to the fact that we do not own our flats, we're only leasing it from the HDB for 99 years. We do not own our cars, we're leasing it from the gahmen for only 10 years. Even our CPF does not belong to us but mere gambling chips for our dear Mdm Lee's punting delight... And now, even the priorities & needs of true blue citizens are being placed behind those of FTs, new immigrants, etc. That's the Sinkapore Dream... What do you see? What do you really see?
  12. Very typical bullying gangster nature of our esteemed gahmen... send a lap dog to disrupt the voice of displeasure amongst the common peasants... while they live in their ivory towers enjoying their million dollar paychecks every month! Viva la Sinkapore!
  13. After the last of our complaints few months back, they finally installed some CCTVs and additional lights at the 12th storey sky garden... it was peaceful for awhile. Now, all the problems are back. Either the CCTVs are just for wayang or the troublemakers are getting bolder. Although I really hope this petition will work, but deep down inside I know very well how this will all end... If I'm not wrong, they mentioned that installing a card access system is not a feasible option. (ie: too expensive and who's going to pay?) That's why I suppose they installed the CCTV as the next best option. Beside missing slippers and glue sniffing punks, quite a number of cars were also vandalised in the MSCP over the months... even the boys in blue can't do anything about it. There was talk of even installing CCTVs in the carpark... but if the CCTVs are like the wayang ones in the sky garden, what's the point? It's as good as placing an empty police car on every floor! I'm sure they have the financial ability to setup the card access system, it's just a matter of their needs and wants. They sure don't want residents in all other HDB estates clamouring to have card access systems too once they hear of us doing so! Then, where's the money left for them to play the market??? Don't forget our Mdm Lee is now back in the game to lose more billions after Mr Ang Mo decided not to be the scapegoat... do we really want to give them the chance to plunder the CPF kitty or taxpayer's money again? Assuming that there's still money left inside the CPF kitty... ha!

  15. The last thing the Emperor wants is to have minimum wage or welfare handouts! No free lunch! He'd rather spend $11.45 billion on his military toys so as to wayang to our neighbours up North! But we all know they're just paper tigers, just like the old man himself. Don't worry too much... The Heavens have heard us... the wheels of fortune are turning fast... omens have revealed themselves in recent times... the Flyer and now the Merlion. Even the best Feng Shui masters can't repair the damage done and the karma to come... “You go down New York, Broadway. You will see the beggars, people of the streets… Where are the beggars in Singapore? Show me.” - MM Lee Kuan Yew
