  1. Oh no....One of the contractors I approached recommended this brand to me... it is only 3-something psf. anyone else tried this brand?
  2. We didn;y buy the flat in the end! We figured even if we fix the problem, it could come back again. To date, don;t think the unit is sold yet....
  3. It is so confusing, cos when we went down to hdb to enquire about this, the officer said that all they will do is send letter to both units to ask them to fix this. But the officers will not really step in to ensure that the job is done properly. It is up to us to negotiate. We hear already a bit scared. The officer said they usually only check for illegal renovation, will not check for these ceiling seepage when they do valuation. We scared pay deposit already, then take long time to fix this problem, largey worse, owner want to push the cost to us!
  4. Hey thanks, tatlee. I just went to hdb and they told me that although they will send an officer down to check but all they will do is send letters to both units, informing unit above that they might need to redo their waterproofing and stuff...But it is up to the owners to negotiate. So it is hard to determine how long this will drag... So we will make it a pt to look at bathroom ceilings 1st thing the next time we go view flat!
  5. I recently went for a viewing of a flat and one disturbing factor was the condition of the bathroom. The seiling has black seepage marks and cracked tiles. Anyone has any idea if it will be expensive to fix this? I am considering buying the unit but I am not sure if the condition of the bathroom/wc should be an area of concern. The agent said that hdb will send an officer down and that they will probably get the current owner to fix this before handing over the flat. Any idea if this is true and how can I make sure that they have done a good job fixing the leakage problems? Appreciate all the help that I can get ! Thanks!
  6. We went for a viewing of a resale 3 rm flat. Main issue we have with the flat is that the bathroom is in pretty bad condition...There were cracks on the tiled walls and black seepage marks on the ceiling of the bathroom/wc. Anyone has any idea if it is difficult to patch this up? Is it expensive? The housing agent said that the hdb officer will come and review the flat and he will probably get the owner to negotiate with the neighbour upstairs to patch up the ceiling. But how can I ensure that they have done a good job and that the problem does not resurface? Appreciate all the help I can get!! Thanks!
