  1. argh! cannot remove the stupid vertical grills!!! looks like we gotta conceal it then....
  2. i guess linggie will be staying in her 5 room unit for a long period of time, so it makes it worthwhile to do the house nicely... i think it's better to pay 0% interest for furnishings instead of paying in full... reno loan is not interest free
  3. I asked the HDB officer, the 8k restriction is no longer applicable as the income limit is only considered upon selection of flat
  4. Living room I did a new layout for my unit, an L shape sofa will probably limit movement within the living room unless the L is nearer to the windows or against the wall near the main door L shape sofas are usually meant for corners I'll probably use the gas water heater... it's free, multi-point and the ugly thing is already fixed... can save me a few hundreds for 2 electric water heaters...
  5. for those interested, http://www.tptc.org.sg/fees.html
  6. I know that roller binds don't come cheap... and it's more expensive than curtains
  7. sometimes we gotta place practicality over beauty
  8. http://www.hbay.com.sg/apps/php/services/estimatortray.php http://www.ecityhome.com.sg/costestimator/index.asp wonder who gives a better quotation

  11. oh... I thought the showflats were only the Jurong ones... I called HDB before I entered the BE and they told me no showflats for the Jln Membina ones got free demo @ Power Supply building
  12. hmm... there were showflats for our Jln Membina estate?
  13. even if we conceal it, there'll be an ugly thing sticking out from the wall but i'm sure most ppl will conceal it, whether or not they use the heater from Citygas unless it is removable
  14. I posted this last week http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?s=...st&p=205736
  15. sneak up from the carpark nearer to blk 25, take the carpark lift up
  16. most likely it's a water heater point thanks for the pic...
  17. judging by the actual measurements I took, beside the door, there's a 1.8m wall... a Queen would fit just nice MBR can definitely fit a Queen, no problem U might wanna show me where you wish to place the mattresses so I can give u a better dimension
  18. went to view my unit... my thoughts... 1. Not much space for a platform in living room unless u're only having 1 sofa & the platform 2. MBR is as big as my current room... gee, a KING size bed will take up almost 85% of the room 3. Bath area is kinda small, a half body tub might be possible but full length is a definite no no 4. Bed room corridor is narrow This is what the design on the kitchen tile looks like.. Do you guys have any request? I took a video of the whole house, let me see if I can help post a screenshot which one? I see 2 ugly things in the kitchen...
  19. some parts of the floor has warped, thus it feels spongy... the way to prevent such things from happening is to use 1 whole piece instead of several pieces together... u can go to Furniture Mall, the 1st shop, "La Casa" or something... wow, their laminate flooring sure is scary... enough to put me off Updated on 5 August 2007 BLK 25A - redbottle - loobhlinda - pert BLK 25B - Linggie & KhooK - Green - MsBean BLK 26A - BLK 26B - dunkmycar - noellechua - lynnnie - dorcas - Vacis + moonbell BLK 26C - elaine1205 - ZLia - Cindy-Monkeybone - chewy BLK 26D - OnePostWonder - jj2 - Princess Momo - rommie - binzz - kriegs - wonsen - Velynn - Simpleboi BLK 27A - xlan - nemofc - bchew - Yang Guo - Seafaith - chaq - Jasch - glaminn BLK 27B - VinceDelfino
  20. i'm going to try and view my unit @ 26D tmr... i'll be equipped with measuring tapes, enlarged floorplan and a camera for taking videos for those who are interested in laminate flooring... I seriously advise you not to do it.... I went to Furniture Mall today, and the shops there use laminate flooring, so much floating effect... and 2 friends who r in this business told me not to use laminate flooring as well
  21. just realised that 26D & 27A have an equal number of forummers (8 each)
