  1. Thx Art Ching. yes, looking for cheapest solution. floor laminates for bay windows will be more hardy but not as nice looking (bay windows will end up looking like floors). so yes, trying to find someone that can do cabinet sort of laminate for bays instead.
  2. Hmmm, that's an interesting concept to think about. most probably window needs to be quite a large area or risk making whole area look more confined with above design. would be interesting to see the pic of described design definitely. thx for sharing the idea. for me, likely not enough budget to venture into this idea. i think will most probably keep it simple. either make a neutral color cushion with material that can tahan a bit of afternoon sun or wood laminating the surface with movable cushions or tatami mats / cushions on top.
  3. hey thx heaps for your ideas. Do you have any contacts for the laminates? hunting high and low for a contact who does bay windows granite is interesting but definitely costly. for cushions, am wary of hot afternoon sun fading/deteriorating the fabric/leather etc.
  4. Did not get any response posting under living room sub-forum, so trying here now. I saw some unit owners in my blk getting a contractor to lay timber on bay windows to create seating area. Others suggested laying laminated wood to cover bays. Showflat put a customized 1-piece vinyl cushion to cover over the bay. Just wondering if anyone has any contractors good at doing any of the above to recommend? can't really find any contacts online except for goodhill (they do planter deckings). If you have pics to share, that would be super as well. Any other ideas would be appreciated too.

  6. Shop will change 3seater to 2.5seater refunding difference in price. But need to wait 3 more mths for delivery sigh. Shop folks were quite professional. Will do biz with them again anytime
  7. Nothing too extraordinary lah, just that having tried so many couches, finally found one that is nice looking and comfy hugging to body while fitting our budget. Also we waited over 3 mths for it to be imported over . Hence quite an anti climax when couch can fit thru door. Sigh Dont have pic. But just a simple clean lined extremely comfy sofa. Nothing too extraordinary. Thats a bit way over the top. anyways, the shop has offered to change our couch from 3 seater to 2.5 seater but need to wait another 3 mths! Sigh. No choice.
  8. My apt is near empty carpark so crane option should b ok. However will be costly with extra workers and platform to secure furniture hoisting it up 9 flrs. We got someone to quote us and he said cost outweighs price of couch. Now hoping furniture shop can detach armrest to move it in b4 reattaching. Sigh major headache.
  9. Thx for sharing the price. In case really need to resort to this avenue, any particular recommendation from ur friend of crane hiring companies that will hire out for just an hour? will definitely take note of the main door dimensions from here on. thx
  10. Ok. Will b trying that route. Still hoping able to get thru the original couch. If change to smaller couch doubt will be able to get credit for the price differential. Somemore must wait long long too Thx for the advice
  11. Thx for the encouragement yellowfin. Will definitely try to be firm but nice as well. Thx for the tips. Really useful advice
  12. Not sure if that is possible but will definitely enquire. ( think leather is one piece though). Thx for the idea though. Will update on what furniture folks say on this. Thx for the idea Furniture price did come with delivery. Good idea though. Not sure how much can stretch this delivery argument but will try. Thx for the idea. Will update what happens on this
  13. 2.4m x 1m x 1m. But apparently all my doorways are just slightly smaller than that. Mega bummer. Sigh
  14. Yes, worst nightmare came thru and the new 3-seater cant fit thru the lift door, maindoor or backdoor. Sux big time. Now deciding whether can get refund credit to switch to another smaller couch or to hire a crane or pulley system to hoist the couch up 9 storeys. anyone has any idea on cost for hiring a crane or professional movers to hoist furniture like couch or piano up 9 floors, appreciate a pm. Thx in advance
