  1. Thanks for your insight! This is helpful, as there are hundreds of IDs out there, but it seems like only 40-50 of them are actually certified under 'CaseTrust for Renovation Businesses' or 'RMCA' -- and even fewer that are certified by both 😕 Really limits our options!
  2. Hi all, starting a new thread as I couldn't find one dedicated to ID-contractors or contractor-IDs. Found a useful writeup on this breed of firms! Apparently, they are the ones executing the work, and can also produce 3D renders and basic design services. Right now, we are rather inclined towards engaging one because We are quite settled on the general design of the home. After all the stories we've heard about how some IDs have gone MIA after signing, and left you to do the project management yourself, we are thinking that engaging an ID-contractor firm would help to cut out the middleman and allow us to work directly with the executors to translate our ideas into reality! Heard about how some IDs charge high markups on each quoted item for the coordinating effort, and we are hoping that working directly with an ID-contractor would help to reduce costs. Do you agree with our reasons? After some searching, below is a list of some firms that seem like ID-cons (though it's not exactly clear, as some of them label themselves with various terms). Grateful for advice or experience with any of them, or if you have any more to add! 3. You can consider searching on Facebook groups with the keywords "rent", "whole unit" etc. There are quite a few active groups with advertisements posted daily, directly by home owners looking for new tenants! Either scroll through the posts, or make a new post of your own as a tenant. Set out your requirements like the length of stay, preferred area(s), facilities required and whether the place should be furnished or not. Tip: a common acronym used in these groups is "BHK" which stands for bedroom, hall and kitchen! Took me a while to figure out 😁 I'm looking to rent out my place in Dhoby Ghaut from August this year, for around 3 to 6 months. It's a 1BHK -- a very spacious one bedder, ensuite bath, full sized kitchen, dining room and living room. Pets welcome too! If anyone is keen, please drop me a message. Thanks
  4. Wondering if anyone is looking for a short term rental of 3 months. From November this year, our home may be available for rent, as we'll be living elsewhere for a while. The condo is centrally located in the city (District 9), well within walking distance to Dhoby Ghaut MRT and Rochor MRT. It will be unfurnished/partially furnished -- still working out the details, and open to discussion. Let us know your budget and your needs Thought this could be an option for anyone whose own home is undergoing renovation, or needs an interim place to stay in while your future home is being constructed. P.S. We love pets and they are welcome too 😊
