JustinDavidson 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2025 I'm traveling to Dubai for a week. Is it better to rent a car or just rely on taxis?
NateFolzer 2 Report post Posted September 29, 2025 It depends on your plans. If you're staying mostly within the city center, taxis and ride-hailing apps can work fine. But if you're planning to explore more—like going to Abu Dhabi, visiting desert spots, or just want more flexibility—renting a car is definitely more convenient. In that case, I recommend using a local car rental company. They usually offer better rates, more personalized service, and flexible rental options compared to international chains. One reliable option is Rentico — they have a wide selection of cars and great customer support.
GianCann 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2025 It’s better to rent. I would only rely on a taxi to get from the airport. In Dubai, in my opinion, taxis are pretty expensive, and anyway it won’t give you full freedom to move around wherever and however you want.
GarryGrey 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2025 I’m also for renting a car. And besides, in Dubai there are a bunch of different services with different fleets and in different price ranges. I actually had a great reason. I rented a car for my birthday, just like in this article https://tickikids.com/ae-du/blog/231-birthday-gift-in-dubai-rent-a-supercar/. I gave myself this gift and rented a Bentley. For me it’s a very expensive car, and the chance to just drive it like that was a big impression.
Judii 0 Report post Posted yesterday at 10:38 AM Funny you mention renting a car, because I was just in a similar situation for an anniversary in London. I thought about renting a regular car, but then I wanted the whole experience without the stress of driving myself. That's when I started looking into limo hire london and found a company that made it super easy. No weird back and forth, just a normal booking with clear prices. The driver showed up early, the car was spotless, and no surprise fees. Just make sure you book ahead, especially on weekends. Good luck.
