What Equipment To Hang Painting?

I used 3M to hang a clock. Less than 2 kg ..but i still used a 2 kg hook.

A couple of nights later there was a big crash.

It had fallen hook and all. The glass pane cracked into

a million pieces.

Luckily nobody was hurt.

Had followed instructions and done it right...so how??

The paint below also got stripped. So a white patch the size of the

3M tape now remains a constant reminder....

Like Mace I wud recomment conventional nails and hammer!!

tat I agree!! I'm using the good old aluminum hook with the 3 iron nails attached to it. quite a challenge to hammer the nails into the wall nicely though...

Rustgal17: I think I saw a couple of shops which also carries a lot of art supplies and art canvas in orchard. Can't remember the name of the shops but its in Ngee Ann City, should be 1 or 2 floors above the old orchard NLB there. Many students go there including some ID students. You can try those see if they're any cheaper. Alternatively you can source from JB. I know there are 1-2 shops selling art supplies like that.

Drilling is the better way to hang heavy paintings. I also have an oil canvas painting for dining area and the guy install it for me using the drilling + nails. So far no problem as well.

Sort of cos the dust from the drilling will fly onto the floor. The guy drilling into the wall was very smart. He taped a plastic bag below the hole where he was going to drill. It saved me the time and effort to sweep the floor as there was no dust on the floor at all.
