Hi, anyone who has bought Blum stuff directly from Blum's authorised dealers please PM which store has a good deal.

Regards

You can get it from Shanghai Tong Lee at Textile Centre. Cheap and good.

Thanks, will check it out.

just a reminder -- it is impt you bear in mind the load when you order blum fittings. i ordered and used hettich fittings because of the larger and heavier loads my drawers need to carry -- so that the drawers open smoothly and closely silently. The design, kitchen zones, organization and mistakes made are detailed on my blog here and here. :yamseng:

I ask my carpenter to get it from Blum, which is cheaper. My whole hse all drawers and cabinets cost less than $2K for the Blum system.

Other 'kitchen specialists' like Seng Kwong and Classic Furniture a.k.a. Classic Kitchen quote me using H'A'FELE silent closing hinges for the swing doors and Hettich German Innotech silent closing runners for the drawers. Their package price is no more than $140 pfr which I think is ok.

But .. seeing that one ID told me that Hettich also has different range of runners, you need to check which they are getting for your. If need to order in, its around $60 per set of runners, but if ex-stock, they can be had for $30 per set. Anyone can verify this?

I'm debating whether to have silent closing for my kitchen.. seems like its more a want than a need. Anyone care to share your thoughts?

Hi, I'm thinking of buying blum runners from Shanghai Tong Lee but notice that the drawer length given by my ID differs from the standard runner length that Blum has. Logically the runners should be shorter than the drawer length and the brochure mentioned to deduct 10 mm from it but even after deducting this some of my drawer length does not fit into the nominal length of the runner blum has. It can be off by either 10 to 20 mm. Any one can advise whether there is allowance for the 10-20 mm difference for the blum runners?

The best way is to go down to those distributors and compare the prices with what blum has given you. Thats what I did when I was looking for those metal drawers and drawer runners for my kitchen reno.

But I ended up not buying blum products as I found another alternative. You can take a look at my My T-blog

i use such silent system selectively in my cabinet. the two big drawers where i store my bowls and plates ( all glass or porcelian ) as well as those drawers where the cutlery is kept. cos i cant stand the din and vibrating when closing. . .
