kilowatts hr is just taking kw * hr. meaning to say, in ur case, turning on a 300 watts devide for 1 hr will be 3 kilowatts hr and 2 hrs will be 6 kilowatts hr.

Let us just say u spend 5 hours watching TV per day.

The consumption of Plasma is 0.3 kW x 5 hours = 1.5 kWh

The consumption of LCD is 0.15 kW x 5 hours = 0.75 kWh

For a year,

Plasma consumption = 97.5 kWh

LCD consumption = 48.8 kWh (to 3 sf)

cost per kWh = $ 0.2169 (not including gst)

Therefore, savings per year = $10.60

dont listen to the sales people bulllshiit. nowadays there are Plasma consuming lesser power than same size LCD.

the technology is keep improving, these people should go do their homework, read more and stop giving outdated information to consumers.

true do ur homework before u buy at the end of the day lcd can't compare to plasma for tv programs ,for sports even with the 200hz lcds there is still a different .Example lets said if plasma take 50% more then lcd and $50 different tru whole year running but it does not serve the pupose of you buy the tv for viewing the best picture u can get ? cheers
