Wet Works Contractor

Recommended Posts

Hi,

After a lot of research we have decided to give our whole woodwork job to J&S.

I need to get few small things done separately for my toilet. Total work amount should be in approx. 4k range.

Any reliable (no ego) person to recommend?

Cheers,

Lucy

believe your place is a condo so any leakage will be your sole liability so

wet area floors need 'upturn' -- xx mmm up the surrounding walls

kictchen ( & any yard) need to be waterproofed ,

not jus only waterproof the area around the 'flr drain traps' where water collects & drains

(my kictchen & yard floors wwere not waterproofed but only tiled ' with a sloping gradient towards the ' flr drain traps' & only areas arund flr traps were WP :bangwall:

shwr area walls--- waterproof to waist height

many diff kinds of chemical comppunds used to waterproof area---

get it in writing wht chemical will be used---

check how gd it is &

get in writing a clear warranty period for waterproofed areas say 5 yrs

ensure a proper waterproofing test (ponding) is conducted over x days --stress test efficacy of waterproofing done--

ensure the water level is maintained- ( with no leakage /outflow of water),

check out reiki's blog where there are pictures of wet areas - waterproofing/ponding

unsure wht chemicals are gd--- tht u mus research--

only was told they r diff brands & GRADES of waterproofing chemicals in the market so pls get in writing-- warranty for WP,against any leakage 5yrs is gd

one contractor told me shwr wall only need WP up to 100mm high---- tht seems too low for me

my 2nd tiler told me shwr wall tiles if all fully covered with cement then no worries wont cause leakage

but since u have a choice - havent start reno-- WP as much as u can

pls be physically there & ask then to show u where they WP, how high, how thick. ...adequately cover all wet areas---

A) i believe aft WP is done, these wet areas need to be DRied 1st

B)then next WP test/ ponding ( w/o tiles laid over !)

C) WP test-- a certain water level mus be maintained -- over 3 days

your contractor/ID need to be ob call in case downstairs neighbors kana leakage from your unit

D) WP test passed then start laying of flr tiles

pls visit your plc daily during reno lest....jaga jaga

thts most of wht i learnt from my own messy reno by fraudster main contractor Ah SOON
