I saw Francis Francis espresso machine at Taka but using coffee powder.

I believe that two models are not available in Singapore since you need special coffee capsule or pads to use it.

My advice to get a coffee machine with bean grinder,eg.Jura,de Longhi,Saeco (but avoid Krups at all times due to poor service in Singapore) as it will be cheaper for long term use.

Nespresso machine (which using capsule similar to illy model that u refer) seems cheaper but the capsule is far more expensive than coffee bean.

I suggest you to import the coffee machine from www.amazon.de that has some credible sellers selling various range of machine priced a lot more cheaper than singapore and they also able to ship it here at reasonable rate

In addition to the capsules being expensive, My personal experience with Nespresso is horrible customer care service. My advice is to stick to brands like illy, which have much better tasting coffee anyway.

Nespresso is overrated IMHO.

You guys can purchase illy machines from orchard, ck tangs basement 1. They are currently having a 10% off for Y1 and X7.1 machines, and capsules as well. The offer will be until 26 February 2012.

Y1 -> $549 (usual) , $494.10 (discounted). Plus free set of 2 espresso cups.

X7.1 -> $699 (usual) , $629.10 (discounted). Plus free set of 2 espresso cups and 2 tins of long espresso capsules.

Illy provides 4 flavors of espresso. Do check it out especially for illy coffee lovers. These machines are definitely up to standards in producing decent espressos.

P.S. the promoter only works on weekends.

Wah.. must head down to try Illy's.. their capsules isit easily available?

I had a Delonghi Espresso Machine but as it uses powder..i got lazy to wash up and all after a while.

Next came a Nespresso..i still love their aromatic kopi of many different flavors..capsules cost 90ct-$1.10..taka staff card got 10% discount.

are CBTL's capsules cheaper??? I do know they got tea capsules though.

BUT really NEspresso Taka service left much to be desired ,, $#%^$#@,... so i alwyas make sure my frds n I have a few cuppa before purchases.

My friend once torn up a capsule to test smell the aroma cos he got so pissed with their attitude.

Yo can get the capsules from fairprice finals, robinson centre point and ck tangs. Probably cold storage too, ( I spotted it at Sengkang, compass point shopping mall ) So therefore I find that it's rather convenient! Furthermore, you can earn rebates every time you purchase illy capsules at ck tangs if you hold citibank card / tangs!

Oh, the one that was 399$ initially? Haha, yeah! You know, illy has that old-school design machine too, but better still, it's capsules based! So it's really easy to maintain! :)

I feel that the taste of the coffee is the most important afterall. I mean you do not want to waste your money on something that has a wide variety of taste but ended up, their espressos are not up-to-standards. (I am rather picky when it comes to good coffee) Then there goes your money. (flys away) Many people regret buying Nespresso to be honest. Not just their service is not good. Their aerocinno(?) spoils easily. You can just google them or see comments on facebook. You see what I mean?

CBTL, imagine tea and coffee dripping out from the same sprout. (I mean in my point of opinion)

Lastly, my message to you- never go with the crowd. Do not get influenced by people who are crazy over a particular product just because that product has done good marketing, etc. (eg. Nescafe)

TASTE the drink :) You will realise that illy machines make smoother espresso than any others :)

Hopes this helps! :)
