My New Home @ Cck Ea

Recommended Posts

I just bought a resale EA at CCK. This is the original floorplan. floorplan.png

My mission here:

to create another bedroom from the current layout.

build TV feature wall

relocate the master bathroom toilet door as I want to have shower screen for both bathroom.

I have two plans. Plan A required lot of hacking since we also need to get rid of the entire store room and move it to kitchen.

planAhacking.png

Plan B required minimum hacking as we simply move the toilet door close to the center of the bathroom. In this case the position of the bed as well as door direction is also taken care.

I am running out of ideas, apart from this I was thinking of just convert the study room to a bedroom and simply create study corner in the existing living room but I don't want the TV noise to disturb my son study.

Any comment is welcome here

congrats on the purchase! :)

For the master bedroom... I do think Plan A looks nicer but Plan B's a lot more practical. I did think... well if you want to save some money and don't mind the squeeze.. For the MBR toilet, have a tempered glass door that swings outwards / slides with track on the outside (at the current location of the toilet door. Then make an L shaped 1m by 1m shower stall just next to the door and shift the sink to opposite the toilet bowl *staggered to the empty side*. Might look kinda odd and squeezy but will prolly save some money.

As for the study and son's bedroom, I'll do this...

Move the wall to make the kitchen smaller.. (cos I'll prefer a small kitchen and big hall, then having an odd hall and a big kitchen...) then partition the ultra big bedroom into two.. needn't be a wall partition.. can be made by anything like cabinets or dividers/bookshelf...

So in other words.. I reckon I'll save on the thing in the MBR/store/toilet... to do this on the study/bedroom/kitchen... cos I'll end up with a bigger hall. <---- which can include a nice dining area.

but that's just imo. :) a big hall is always impt to my family. haha

I still prefer a dedicated study area. Here my new plan C. I will relocate the study to the living room. This will save some space for the Living area.
