Flooring Advise - Cement Screed?

Recommended Posts

Hi Fellow Renotalks forumers,

Need some valuable advise for flooring. what's the cheapest way to do flooring for a office space of 1400 sqft?

I'm looking at cement screed. Is there a type of finish or protective layer apply to the cement?

Would love to achieve this type of flooring.

Also looking for a good contractor to do the flooring.

And advise will be very much appreciated.

Thank You guys.

Cheers

you need to apply a layer of epoxy coating on the cement screed.

this look is achieved by using a power float on the screed before it hardens.

does cement screed last>

heard that walls tend to crack easily izzit?

Crack is the characteristic of cement screed... I had my living, dining and 3 bedrooms flooring done in cement screed 8 years ago with stainless steel strips inlay for a minimalist look and feel. I waited 6 years to get all the cracks to settle and no more new crack appearing, then i applied 2 thick layers of clear lacquer to seal off all the cracks, it acts as waterproof layer too.
