Need Help On Cost Of Electrical Works

Recommended Posts

I am renovating my new place. I find the cost of electrical works quoted rather high. My place is three storeys and I want concealed wiring, so I understand the cost will be much higher. I am willing to pay the higher price but just want it to be reasonable.

QUOTED:

Lighting Point $58 for wiring

$10 for installation of normal lights, $50 for hanging lights

SCV $180 for wiring

Single 13A $100 for wiring & $28 for face-plates

Double 13A $120 for wiring & $28 for face-plates

Heater $190 for wiring

Ceiling Fan $60 for normal height $320 for high ceiling

Cooker Hood $95 for wiring

Induction Hob (30A) $420 for wiring??

2-way Switch $85 for wiring

20A isolator $300 for wiring

Outdoor power socket $190

Cat 5 data point $150

Cat 6 data point $230

Shift Lightning conductor $1,250??

For wiring, do contractors lay completely new wires from DB to the lighting/power point? If that is the case, I can understand the high cost. But in my case, he is merely tapping from nearby points. Furthermore, there are existing light points, just that maybe the numbers and location will now be different.

Might be different for landed property, but for a HDB 4 room BTO, I was quoted ...

$75 for single wall socket, $85 for double.

$160 to relocate SCV point

$45 to install a light point but $15 to install the light.

i think if you buy your lights/fans, the first one should be around 30-45$, after lights will be 8-10$ depending if you require hacking for concealed wiring
