Building Back A Wall

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have hacked off the wall between my study room and living room 2 years back.

Due to some reason, i need to construct back the wall with a opening door.

Anyone can advise me what are the best cost effective way to build back the wall with a door?

1) Partition wall with a door?

2) Construct a concrete wall with a door?

3) Install a PD door?

Best Regards

LadyLyn

Hi LadyLyn

Construct using what material will be based on ur needs. If sound insulation is ur concern maybe u will like to construct back with concrete wall. As i do not know ur needs so really unable to advise u further. Maybe u will like to pm me or discuss here so more advise can be given to u. Cheers

Instead of a wall, build a cabinet that looks like a book shelf. Can be useful storage space. the door can be made to look like a cabinet door or like a sliding wardrobe door.

Really depends on your requirement. Sound proofing can be achieved to a certain extent by using rock wool in partition. Partition wall definitely cheaper, using carpentry is a good option, but honestly, quite expensive. Brick/hollow block wall, compare with partition wall, pricing should be more expensive. PD door....???? Not quite a fan.

In short:

Budget constraint

Use partition wall

No constraint

Use carpentry (with pocket door or even glass door)
