Cozy Bedroom Revamp! False Ceilings?

Been trying to revamp my bedroom and I just laminated my floor recently. I'm really happy with the results and the pricing as well. Got the flooring done for about $550 (shifted furniture myself.

Now I'm trying to do some downlights for my ceiling! It's a common bedroom in an old HDB flat. I've been reading around and decided to go for a uniform false ceiling instead of an L Box which would either go out of fashion or just look odd if it isn't set right.

Here's where you could help me with! How much is it!

I've called up PinPin (http://www.pinpin.com.sg/contactus.html) who quoted me more than 1k for

1) Wiring

2) Installation of 4 downlights

3) Painting

Another contractor I called gave me a quote for $550 off hand without telling me much.

It's quite a big difference! What's a reasonable price to get a uniform false ceiling down for a single common bedroom with everything included?
