Dear podders, can someone advise me what is the meaning of plastering?? Thank you in advance..

its to smoothen our exsiting walls with a cornice plaster,

so as to get a level surface.

Usually done for old flats, especially those that you can see the shape of the bricks on the walls, which is very unsightly.

we did plastering to cover up those unsightly stone paint...

then anyone can advice the approximate cost of plastering? eg, per square area etc..

i was quoted about 2 k for EA. 147 sq ft. OUCH but no choice cuz previous owner use ROCKSTONE wall! arrrguh!

also note that after replastering, need to touch up with sealant before u can paint over it. and usually they will put it as a seperate item, i.e. plastering quotation doesn't include sealant application. they charge seperate. so better make sure!

hi rainstorm, just want to check with you. Does your SGD900 includes sealant application like what gothique had mentioned? How big is ur 4-rm flat?

I just checked with my plastering man, he told me that he did put “sealer” before plastering as to prevent water leakage. This things will get harden very quickly.

Mine was 64sq m 3rm flat......i did my 4 walls for all my living and 2 bedroom.

The contractor said the surface very smooth, the material they use must be very fine.....i didn't get one contractor to do everything but individual who expert in the areas....alot of coordination work tho..

sure....but then hor....warn you first....this guy talk alot one, you can listen to what he suggest but not necessary to follow , must firm with what you want hor(don't tell him that i say these )....overall he is ok...he has other contact like electrical wiring and cabinet....i use the electrical wiring guy that he recommend.Actually the plastering also done by his friend one....I think he specialised in partition and false ceiling...

he is Sam Lee 97433314. If he asked who recommend, just say by Ms Awyang blk 406 Tampines which he is doing now.....
