  1. Just bought TECNO hood and hob @ 588 from Hoe Kee. Was looking for white painted combo, really limited selections these days. All stainless steel and glass, the former easily get scratched and latter looks cheap to me. Went to 2 stores at IMM, and both TECNO and Turbo have white painted combo, but only one model from each. TECNO looks nicer, and made in Italy, Turbo made in Taiwan. Pricewise, 588 vs. 599. So, of course TECNO won.
  2. or maybe use stainless steel? if it's better or cheaper?
  3. Bought a HDB flat that's been empty for the last 20+ years, so everything are from 1980s. Wanna install a build-in hob, but current top is built of cement, which means it cannot be cut, and it's around 11cm lower than the other parts of worktops. So I'm thinking of buy a piece of granite/marble, ask them to cut the hole for the hob, then glue a frame to it, and just place or glue to the original worktop. Anyone got any idea? Thanks.
  4. Well, don't know about black & decker, but I just bought a Bosch from Home-Fix. $143 including a free set of bits. Used to drill the wall for curtain rod, so far so good.
  5. Old HDB, got no heater point in the bathroom. Called some contractor and was quoted 100+ for installation including wiring. As explained, the wiring is just connect from some power point outside the bathroom directly into the heater. No power point in the bathroom. Sounds quite simple, thinking of DIY. But just worried about the insulation of water. How to ensure water will not go in the heater? Anyone got such experience? Of should I just ask professionals to do it? Thanks.
