  1. Hello, Any recommendation on doing sound proof for acoustic piano at low cost? As my room is small, I afraid playing acoustic piano would be too loud and disturbing neighbour. Heard that carpet will help, but not sure what kind of carpet helps most and where to buy. Thanks.
  2. Hi, I have tiles built up from all the walls in my toilet. I would like to install hangers and mirrors onto the wall. Anyone can advice how to drill through the tiles while not breaking them? I heard that try to drill at the edge of the tiles will reduce the cracking possibility. Shall i use hammer mode or drilling mode? Thanks.
  3. After renovation, after painting done, but before cleaning floor/windows or moving in furnitures. I have hard time cleaning my floor and windows due to dust when drilling holes.
  4. Not very good experience with them. Bought 3 things from them. Sofa. - Delivery on time but I think they cut some clothing material. Like the cushion bottom face, it is replaced by black cloth. I cant remember if the showroom is black cloth at bottom face or same clothing material throughout whole cushion. Will go down to check at ask for clarification. Small round table. - The table is shaky, need to stable it with some paper pack. TV console - Worst. Delay for a week without prior notification AT ALL, until i call them to confirm. This cause me to on hold my TV and sound system delivery urgently. Overall, not recommended to shop with them.
  5. Finally I found this page. EBE-136 ballast Increase the sucess rate of EBE-136 and PL-L light combo.
  6. The tubes (Philips brand) cost $6.5 from Choo Chiang. Anyone has the EB-E 136 ballast datasheet or manual, the ballast in mace blog? I searched Philips website, it has only HF-B 136 Ballast, which can be used for both T8/T5 and PL-L light. Tempted to give a try on EB-E and PL-L combo.
  7. Existing is coil/magnetic ballast. They do have electronic ballast installed option, but is cheapo brand, I dont want. This PLL light is not downlights. It lie horizontal like T8/T5 lights due to long length.
  8. I just found that my light is not T8 type. It is PLL compact fluorescent light. PLL light Can anyone try if the philip electronic ballast look like this can use on the PLL compact fluorescent light? taken from Mace blog. I went to Choo Chiang, but none of them can advice me if this ballast fit to the PLL light.
  9. Thanks. How about the electronic ballast? T8 tube has 4 wires to be connected to the ballast. How about T5?
  10. I have a good painting lobang. PM me if you are interested, i can give you his contact. He just done my new house painting. On top of good workmanship, to my surprise is he brings 3 workers to paint my house last Sat. Each around 50 age but doing good work and fast. One day finish 90m2 HDB painting. Another half days on door and door frame. Best thing is they help to clean up the house after painting. I choose 5 wall colours, excluding the default white ceiling colour. Overall, he charged me $900.
  11. Hi Mace, Thanks for the info. Then i will get seperate ballast for each of the tube. The T8 tube came together with the lighting unit. I ask the shop if can just buy the lighting unit without tube and ballast, but they said only ballast can take out. Is the T8 tube replacable by T5 tube without any mod?
  12. I bought MHI too I think any of the aircon nowsaday are quite quiet. They might just differ by a few dB, where human ears are hard to differentiate, especially extra environment noise such as hubby snoring Since i bought system 4, there are no much brand for me to choose at this moment. Comparing MHI and Starmex, I would prefer investment on more functions and "high tech" features that provided by MHI (like 3D swing, the nano thing etc listed in the booklet, dont know how true it is), rather than investing in easy to clean (easy to break too!). No matter how easy to clean, the air con servicing cost will still be the same. Just my 2 cents.
  13. Hi, Most of my new house lighting are PLC flolecent light 36W, and there are 2 tubes per unit, so in total has 72W per unit. I am thinking of using Philip electronic ballast instead of coil ballast as recommended in the forum. However, when i check with Choo Chiang, They sell 36W ballast and dual-36W which cost S$9 and S$13.5 respectively. Thinking of using the dual-36W ballast, as it is cheaper and only need one ballast per unit. Have anyone use the dual-36W philip electronic ballast before? If one ballast blow off due to some reason will affect other ballasts that are connected in parallel to it within an lighting unit?
