  1. of course malays can read english la. most of them are educated ok. when the menu is written in malay for the malay guest then feel more "at home" mah.
  2. the bridal suite stay after the banquet was free bcos included in the wedding package. sigh, the banquet ended about 11pm then after sending all the guests away and it was already 12am liao. we were extremely tired liao and moreover my hb was drunk liao. hahaha.
  3. my wedding coordinator had translated for me the muslim menu but i forget liao. it was written in malays bcos it was meant for the malay guest to read mah. hahaha.
  4. the rest of the photos arent ready yet. my AD photographer is still developing them. the bridal suite has the size of 2 deluxe rooms or slightly bigger. i didnt managed to take photos of the other half of the bridal suite where there's a study area and sofa bcos was rushing for time on that day. actually, the original price for the suite per night is about $1300+++. but we entitled some discounts from 2nd night onwards. i forget how many % discounts. my hb settled the bill.
  5. as i said, i got see the menu and all in malays so i dont know the dishes. but i heard from the malay friend there was shark fins in the menu. understand??
  6. i'm unsure leh bcos the menu is in malays. moreover, i wasnt sitted beside the malay friend.
  7. ya. padang, canning and collyer ballrooms combine to become raffles ballroom. raffles ballroom is the biggest. stamford ballroom is the next biggest and the smallest is atrium ballroom. however, i prefer stamford ballroom bcos of its own foyer; more privacy for the guests. the stamford ballroom comes with smart lightnings and ceiling is the next highest. never mind la. you can slowly plan lor. good luck!
  8. hi jacky. stamford ballroom is different from padang, collyer and canning. there're several ballrooms @ swissotel. atrium and stamford have privacy compare to padang, collyer and canning. atrium and stamford have private foyer of its own for cocktail reception. what about you? AD over liao? our guests drank a total of 34-36 bottles of red wines eventhough it was a sunday banquet. we got all the red wines from the hotel and spent about 1.4k on red wines alone.
  9. our AD had just over. we used the stamford ballroom. our guests complimented about the food. they said the food was very delicious and the portion was a lot so very full after the 8th course. our wedding concierge, mike lee was very professional. he attended to all our needs very promptly. the bridal suite on 64th floor was very beautiful! some photos of the bridal suite and scenery to share. my friends even told me wow the bridal suite was so spacious. more photos are coming up soon. stay tune! here the stunning scenery! more photos to share! stay tune!
  10. ya, i allowed my friends to my bridal suite bcos they want to see me makeup. room for helpers? my friends werent my helpers mah. they were there to attend my wedding but they came early so they went up to my bridal suite. i had a wedding concierge (so called personal assistant) to handle all my needs. we havent planned where to go for honeymoon yet. we stayed at swissotel for a few days then went home. i catered a muslim 9 course dinner (got shark fins) for a malay friend.
  11. our AD had just over. we used the stamford ballroom. our guests complimented about the food. they said the food was very delicious and the portion was a lot so very full after the 8th course. our wedding concierge was very professional. he attended all our needs very promptly. the bridal suite was very beautiful! my friends even told me wow the bridal suite was so spacious. !!
  12. aiya, you cant have everything in the world lor. probably, you update us tomolo. if can, take photos lor. mine is about 5-6 tables march in distance.
  13. is it? then very short march in liao leh.
  14. we havent done the rehearsal; not so soon. about 5 hours before the banquet starts then rehearsal. rehearsal so soon will also forget liao. for me, i don bother the march in takes how many mins. as long as its long and straight march in. you can control your pace mah when march in.
  15. then how long you want for march in?! 1 hour? !!
  16. why sad? ok la. i feel that long march in gives a grand feeling. esp long and straight march in. mine is going to be long and straight march in. my sister's ROM is dinner buffet at the hotel cafe. i mean the carpark entrance is weird. v difficult to find. !!
  17. grand plaza suite location (level) should be quite standard. bcos from outside can see the hotel isnt very tall. my sister held her ROM there. something to note, the carpark is a bit weird lor. i prefer long match in. but short march in also good la so that you can quickly reach the stage. !! my tea session will be on the same day as my AD but in the morning.
  18. but i think you dont have much choices either. so, sometimes got to give and take lor. the very basic things to look for ballroom are the ceiling height, whether it has pillars a not and the lightnings. moreover, the date of your AD is so near lor. its about 6 months more to go. the ballroom for my wedding has high ceiling, no pillar and has smart lightnings. my AD suite is located very high up at 60+ level; nice scenery. $3000 deposit is standard. we paid near $5000 deposit. !!
  19. my wedding hotel (swissotel the stamford) told us to make a deposit of $4000. then 1 week before the wedding, we got to settle full payment. we can use cheque, cash or extend credit cards limits. we settled using cheque or cash 1 week before our wedding. its also good la to work out in such a way so that after the wedding you dont have to bother about the payment!
  20. its individual preference whether you wish to have one VIP table or two VIP tables. firstly, i guess you got to ask both families whether which idea they prefer.
  21. for chinese wedding, usually there'll be 2 VIP tables (one for the bride's family and one for the bridegroom's family). the bride will have to sit with the bridegroom's family. bcos for chinese, woman is considered married into the man's family so she must sit with the man's family. BUT, nowadays some hotels have offered only one big VIP table where the bride and bridegroom families all sit together. such VIP table can sit 20 people. however, my hb and i still prefer the so called "traditional sitting" where there're 2 VIP tables. we feel that 20 people sit together at one big VIP table will be very crowded.
  22. we got our wedding albums liao! we're pleased with the photos. the BS has advertised our wedding photos in two different bridal magazines for their BS advertisement. i should get advertising fee from the BS!
