  1. hi ladyluck Judging by what you say about your staff's behaviour, i think she's hopeless! Bringing strangers into the office without permission already amounts to disciplinary action leh. The company's internet is meant for business, not for chit-chats. Moreover, she's always late or on MC. I'd have asked her to go before probation's up or give her 1 weeks' notice to find another job. goodluck to u2!
  2. Aiyo Clockwork you're so funny kill her plants...lol...but don't get caught ah. piwi, you're going to move in soon so I suggest make-peace-not-war. To these kind of old aunties (i assume she's old), the more you tell her off, the more she'll make your life ****. Trust me, my mother-in-law is one of them. Her neighbour once told her off about her potted plants but she just ignore and purposely buy more and stack near her doorsteps. So i suggest you try to get into her good books. For instance, you can buy her plants and give to her as a welcome/hello gift and put it somewhere or in the middle of both your territories (as a divider). Then you can give her some oranges when nearing CNY. Finally, offer to water her plants whenever she's not around. Then it'll be easier to discuss with her your plans. To these old folks, they are either deaf or they never listen but can still make alot of noise so it's best to get along with them. BUT if everything fails, just go ahead and kill her plants
  3. so sorry ah, i'm very blur, so anxious to know about the consequence that i post one here and one there and finally one to Master Chong. I'd also consulted another geomancer and he said it's alrite cos it's not right smack in the middle. The so-called 'poison arrow' usually refers to trees or lamp posts just outside the house. As for those residing in HDB flats, it's usually not much of a problem (except that it's an eyesore as it's strikingly red). My inlaws also got one right outside their gate and they've been living there harmoniously for 2 decades. Yep, i'd signed on the dotted line, just waiting to collect my keys and start renovation! yippeeE! ps: i still cross my fingers and hope everything goes a OK
  4. anyway just to add, I'd promised myself to work hard in my job so that if i ever have to deal with that manager again, she better makes sure she's not my subordinate or supplier cos she's definitely won't be having it easy. So the moral of the story is, be nice and leave a way-out for others as you might not know when you'll be needing that person's help instead. Singapore so small, anything's possible right?
  5. Hi ladyluck, hmmm...not quite sure what u mean by unclear boundaries...has that person bypass your authority and went straight to your boss? Have you ever had a good talk (be nice!) with that person and let him know that it's unacceptable and you'd prefer he discuss with you first before going to your boss? I'd a really bad face-off with my manager before and she was one big @*?-hole. I wasn't aware that I can't go directly to my boss for his signature/approval of my projects and had to discuss every little things with her and MAN, she did make my life **** from there. Before u jump in at me, let me explain. I'd to approach our boss becos she's always not around for any discussion (busy with customers, out on sales call or meetings) so I thought it's alrite to get our boss for my project approvals. Of course, your subordinate deserves a beating if he always pushes his responsibility around and blames others for his mistakes but he also deserves a good talking to for he might not know he'd 'crossed your boundaries'. Be nice & good luck! ps: if he still behaves as if he owns the world after talking to him, report his bad behaviour to your boss and leaves him to your management's discretion. ~just my 2cents hor~
  6. Hi Mr Chong, Sorry tried to PM you but your mailbox's full. There's one hydrant pipe located right outside my gate (slightly to the left along the corridor). Is there any cause for concern from FS point of view? will it do to place a plant right in front of the pipe? if so, which plant? thank you very much!
  7. same here!! there's one right outside my gate (slightly to the left along the corridor). I don't mind losing some wealth but I don't want anything bad to happen to my hubby or dotter. How how how? Master Chong, HELP!!! Btw, am I stupid to ask if I could secretly paint one side of the pipe to the same color as the wall? It's very red lor, to me, it looks like a dam~ big poison arrow from FS point of view. PLEASE tell me i'm wrong...::very worried:: will it do to place a plant right infront of the pipe? if so, which plant? Ta.
  8. wah....is it really so bad??? HELP!!! (before we sign on the dotted line next week)
  9. You should be glad becos I'm quoted $1500 for painting my 3-room flat including sealant $300 and Yep, I dumped that contractor!
  10. I must have been so busy looking at the interior of my new flat (resale) that I didn't notice this red hydrant pipe located just along the corridor. It's very obvious when I'm looking out from the inside of the house. It's location is not directly in the middle facing the gate but slightly to the left.
  11. Hi shearerkk, :wow: very nice coffee table but how much is the 'real thing'? did you get both in a 'packaged price'? Cheers!
  12. Thanks cloudy! I'll discuss with my contractor on getting laminates instead. Hi pinkpetter! Did you mean overlaying with Homogeneous tiles? My contractor said cannot leh. I also wanted Homogeneous tiles but he said either ceramic or laminate. Help? Thanks all!
  13. hi cloudy! I'm actually thinking of laminate too but I'd heard it has more problems than the earlier mentioned like it will pop up on contact with water or leave a watermark. Are you using laminate for your flat? how is it? any problems so far? thanks for your reply!
  14. hi all i'd been advised by one of the contractors to do overlay by using ceramic tiles for the living room because of time and $$$ savings but i'd heard of the problems that overlay might cause. Any advice from those who'd overlaid ceramic tiles in their living rooms? Any problems? Thanks! btw, he also suggests overlaying the kitchen and toilets floor and wall tiles. He says it's approved by HDB so worries wor. But I'm abit worried that it might pop or crack and hit someone or worse my own dotter. How? Help???
