Sorry for the delayed reply. Am in Hk now on biz trip. So wish to be home now cos this week is carpentry installation and furniture delivery week. Can only rely on the photos my htb email me at night. The furniture came yesterday. The dunlop bed, alumix wardrobe fixed on sat, sofa set and dining table (they got the base in wrong measure so have to redeliver again today. More photos to share! Somehow in this photo the wall colors turn out more turquoise! I was not sure about the green cushions. Kind of regretted after selecting the color. Thks thks! I love it too! Not sure if I get your question right but the false ceilings came with the house to keep the storage heater out of sight. We did not want to have the downlight on the cut out false ceiling cos scared when we change the heater the electricity will gana. But still went ahead cos electrician says it is okay.

I changed my master toilet door to be wooden sliding door. I am not liberal enough to see my htb doing his business from the bedroom so I chose a more opaque choice. It should be installed by end week so more photos then. Common toilet door remains Kitchen toilet door to change to Swingslide door.

My actual feature wall color *thank god* Masterbedroom toilet *see how neatly they placed the downlight on the cut out false ceiling* Same thing they did on my kitchen false ceiling In fact, they install my ceiling fan on my false ceiling as well. It is an industry thing. So I take what Henry says and hope the ceiling fan will not come crashing down on me one day.

the false ceiling in the toilets come with the house. The storage heaters are hidden within them. Will take upload some photos later. They install the downlights on the false ceiling and cos of the space constraint and multiple downlights needed (if not, not bright enuff) they had to install in on the opening (to gain access to heater) of the false ceiling.

Painter guy coming down today and Henry says carpentry installation can finished in 2-3 days. So if everything goes well, I should have more finished photo to share by end next week. CAN'T WAIT!

NEED HELP! Just got my parquet flooring varnished and now my house reeks of the varnish smell! It is SOOOOO bad I can smell it when I was opening my front door. And it is so bad I can hardly stay in the house. When we painted the house earlier there was not much odor leh... so really did not expect varnish smell to be so bad.. . Anyhow I am still in the middle of the reno so the house will get to be "used" so will have chance to open the window to ventilate it (otherwise hard to open window cos now rainy season). But I seriously doubt the worker can tahan the toxic odor.. Any solutions to get rid of the smell? I read from another thread can use charcoal. But this is very strong toxic varnish smell so dunno charcoal powerful enough to rid it. Any other tips?

Thanks for the compliment. I am really excited about the development. It is starting to look liked a home. Just went up to have a look at the newly polished parquet floor. Problem is I practically ran out of the house. The place reeks of varnish smell so strong I had to take deep breathe at the lobby to rid the toxic fumes in my lungs!!! ARGH... anyone can advise how to get rid of the varnish smell??????HELP!!!

Yippee! The Ceiling fans and Lightings are all up!! Bought relite petite ceiling fans for dining, living and two bedrooms. Downlights everywhere except for the yard. No more torch lights needed to view the house at night. Machiam liked discover fire liked that.. hehe.. Photos soon! Tomorrow the house will get cleaned up and polished. And by end of next week, fixing up the carpentry. Can't wait!

Went down last weekend and also confirmed my order for my kitchen door. Chose the tempered glass kind (is it the same as phenolic??) at $390 nett. If you want the "bone" of the door bigger, aka, more stable, it is at $480nett. It is too ex for me plus my kitchen doorway is small so went with the regular "bone". i was worried on the door being too filmsy esp. for the arcylic one. The glass one is heavier so it is actually quite okay. The most stable one is the bigger "bone" door. That one very very stable. Machiam liked wooden door. But hor.. too ex la..

Ya no harm trying. He is trying to finish up my house by end Nov..hiak hiak.. so henry keeps saying want to be in time to do xmas bbq at my house.. he better!! The good thing about Henry is that he knows his limit and wun take on too much. The other ID who is liked that is Mr Yeak. I got rejected by him but I will always remember him cos he is down to earth.

Tot Henry is the boss. Got other ID one ah? Was telling him he owes Simon alot of kopi cos Simon so nice to share his finished work with everyone in Renotalk. And his business becomes Boomz. hehe.. Never take leh.. but the toilet bowl is $260 with geberit system. I thought Hupfarri is quite ex given its image but turns out reasonable in pricing and service is good! Been there 3 times and was served by different sales person. All were pleasant though Irene was the only one who is more zai.. the other two girls abit junior so abit clueless sometime.

Henry says will do final touch up of paint and feature wall right at the end.. so will have to bear with the green wall for the time being.. To share my horror (it is alot darker aka ugly in person)

Just bought my toilet bowls and basins from Hupfarri. Got McClaire toilet bowls at $260 each with Geberitt (correct spelling?) system. Quite pleased with that. Master Bathroom Basin $360 Common bathroom basin $148 Served by Irene and very happy with her services. She was genuine and after being served by many over zealous sales ppl she was a breathe of fresh air.

Henry upgrade liao.. was teasing him the other day.. he send us the soft copy and printed them out on nice shiny photo paper for us. So i was quite touched by his effort considering he is a contractor. We like his design but will do up the kitchen in all white instead of red top and backing. Scared will get sick of the color after a while. Quite problematic with the TV pole system. Will update you guys when it is up. I am curious how it will turn out..

Saw some in Ikea. 3 brightness control. Quite cool.
