nirvana 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2009 NEED HELP! Just got my parquet flooring varnished and now my house reeks of the varnish smell! It is SOOOOO bad I can smell it when I was opening my front door. And it is so bad I can hardly stay in the house. When we painted the house earlier there was not much odor leh... so really did not expect varnish smell to be so bad.. . Anyhow I am still in the middle of the reno so the house will get to be "used" so will have chance to open the window to ventilate it (otherwise hard to open window cos now rainy season). But I seriously doubt the worker can tahan the toxic odor.. Any solutions to get rid of the smell? I read from another thread can use charcoal. But this is very strong toxic varnish smell so dunno charcoal powerful enough to rid it. Any other tips?
