  1. Thanks everyone for the comments. Actually I bought it in a spur of the moment. Been house hunting for about 1-2 months and seen so many HDB in Marine parade, bedok and Kembangan area.. then realised price all very very high, almost reach private apt liaos.. so went on to look at private apt around simei, tanah merah and Bedok area.. Dun dare to even think of Kembangan cos of their prices. More of see see look look when I came about this unit and it is liked boomz (courtesy of Ris low). Just connect with this house. So bought it within a week. When I sign the papers, I nearly got a heart attack when I saw the price the previous owner paid. He bought during Sars period and it was just under $500k!! Sigh.. dun care la.. like can liao. who cares what others say. Hor, Worldangel

I was comtemplating on HDB around the area but they were going very high even before the market surge in June. So I went for private instead. By the way your baby SOOOO cute!
  5. yup, Rapister. It was a good deal. Glad you concur.
  6. New place at the condo near Kembangan mrt. Bought it at 630k. But it is quite old liao - about 12 years old. So need to overhaul most of the things. Doing everything except hacking of floor and 2nd bedroom.
  7. Hi Hi *shy* Been lurking around Renotalk for the longest time in preparation of the renovation of my first home with hubby to be. Have troubled some of you on contacts and referrals and now it is time to share my (little) knowledge back. Bought a condo apartment in May 09 just before the crazy hike in the property market. So considered myself quite lucky. If not, I will still be hunting for one right now and be very demoralised by the prices. Got the keys in July and started to shortlist IDs and Contractors for the renovation. Had the debate with Y on whether we should engage ID and Contractor. With our limited budget of 25-30k, we settled for contractor in the end. However, from our little quest to find the suitable contractor, we realised that there are also contractor who re-packaged themselves to be IDs and charged exorbidant prices. Thanks to Supersimon, we settled for Henry from ID Note as he gave the most reasonable price for everything we want to do. So I officially joined "Hener" club! We are in the first week of renovation and will do more updates!
  8. Oh.. saw them at the shop yesterday. We were doubtful of the strength of wind generated but when they switched them on, very good ah.. The sunflower on was about 1-2 metre away, yet we can feel the wind. The V6 one is really quiet and strong. But both very ex. Thinking of getting the Fanco FF9 one. They quoted me 210 nett with regulator and installation. Not bad!
  9. Need some advice on pricing for parquet polishing. Was quoted 500-600 by my contractor for 2 bedrooms. Each bedroom about 10ft by 10 ft. Ex? Got lots of scratches in one of the room, esp. at the door area. not sure if it is due to the door alignment or the parquet rising up. The door will scratch when we open and close it. Sigh.. heart pain Oh.. SoConfused must be from Mr Wood Varnish la. All 12 comments promoting the company. Hee.. Can I have more impartial view from others? Thanks!
  10. Hi guys, I just bought my house and now going through the mortgage stuff. Crossing my fingers I will get my keys by early August! Searching for ID/contractors now and also sourcing for furnitures and E&Es. This is my first house and I really look forward to make it sui sui, been diligently coming to forum to learn more about what to look out for. I especially like the thread on "what material you regret installing" under the "maintenance & repair" and thought I will do one up for E&E. Any one to start the ball rolling??
  11. For cash wise, you might want to put aside some extra on paying legal fee (can try to subsidy from bank) as well as mortgage insurance. By the way, can we use CPF for mortgage insurance?
