So strange.... why aren't the pictures showing up. When I uploaded them, I could see them. Hm.... First reno was basically a rush job. Shoddy workmanship. The kitichen cabinet doors were not aligned properly even after they were rectified. The solid surface for kitchen cabinet, you can see lots of scratches and even a crack at the cooking hob area. When the 2nd ID came to see, was shaking her head and said this is the first time she has seen a crack in solid surface. The skirting in the living room started falling off. The laminated flooring was crappy material compared to what I have now. In the first place, I didn't want laminated flooring in both bedrooms but the ID went ahead and did it. He said it was our fault that we never said. We went `huh?!' cos we informed him from the beginning and stupidly trusted him when he didn't change his contract. Chipped off 2 of the kitchen floor tiles, when we asked to change, ID said cannot cos will affect the other tiles, blah, blah, blah. His tiling guy just came, put a similar colour cement or something to patch up but can see it is obviously patched up. In the end, we stopped asking him to send people to rectify cos every time they come, we spent hours cleaning up cos they make a mess of the place.

Oh! Then I went to enquire at the wrong temple. Never mind, we went back to 竹林寺 to give our own date and we have settled on a date liao. Thanks all the same. I really appreciate all the advices I have been getting from this forum. At least not running around like a headless chicken.

Yeah... weird for me but no one else has seen it leh and I am not the `sensitive' sort. I am taking the wait-and-see approach so I am thinking I should give it a couple of weeks, wait to `an' Guan Yin first then see if I still see white flashes. If still have, then I go ask Master Chang. Like I said in my earlier post, hair not standing so not worried YET.

Maybe that's why I am seeing flashes of white. Trying to settle the Guan Yin `dot-eye' process but need for the day that was given which is still 2 weeks away.

Hey... so drama hor... I see a patch of white quickly passing by on my side view. Saw it a couple of times but no hair standing. Think most probably that I am tired with cleaning, unpacking, re-packing, doing liaison and World Cup fever. Now with World Cup over, most cleaning done and nearly finish unpacking, hopefully no more flashes of white....

For me, it is good health, harmony and peace. Sounds simple but not so.

Hi That's the one my partner, J, first approach because J has been going to this temple for many years. We went back and forth between the person-in-charge 竹林寺and Master Chang. Anyway, my partner called 竹林寺 again after calling the one at Anchorvale. Finally settled on a date as that was the date given by the Anchorvale one. I hope it works out well. Since Master Chang says to redo, we redo. Just want good health, harmony and peace for the family. Personally, I am a free thinker, it is more for my partner. Also don't know if it is due to stress and not sleeping well at night, I have been seeing flashes of white from side glance passing across the front of the main door and within the house. So trying to keep calm and not panic. BTW, did 竹林寺 give you a date for `dot-eye' process or you gave them a date that you wanted?

Thanks, 8huat8! Ours is the Buddist way, don't burn joss stick. Erm... Anchorvale Link? Is it the temple that was shown on tv during CNY where it was super crowded? Is it called Puat Jit Buddist Temple?

Yes, the Guan Yin was passed down to my partner from his mother so he `invited' the Guan Yin (procedure given by the previous FSM) from his old house to our current place. Master Chang came to our house then asked us whether the Guan Yin was old or new. He said the Guan Yin has not been blessed when we moved the Guan Yin from the old house. Said we were praying to an empty goddess for the last 5 years. Therefore, asked us to have the Guan Yin re-bless and to remove the glass of water from the alter and to face the Guan Yin in certain direction after the blessing.

Hi Do anyone know which temple to go to for `kai guan'? I already have a guanyin in my house which Master Chang says need to re-do the `kai guan'. I actually wanted to go to 竹林寺 but they ask me to go seek a date for `kai guan' from Master Chang and when I asked Master Chang, he asked me to go back to the temple to ask for a date. He said if the temple don't provide date, to go to another temple. I have asked Lian San Shuang Lin Shi but they don't do. I have a friend who knows a shifu who does this but I am worried cos I don't know if the shifu is authentic. Anyone can help? Much appreciate. Thanks!

Hi 4D Striker Can you share where to find the windchime? I walked up and down the streets of Chinatown and asked a dozen of shops but none got solid silver 4-rod windchime. I even went Fu Lu Shou but nothing. Help!!!!

Hi, if your situation is the same as mine, the rubber strips of my kitchen toilet bi-fold door have dropped out cos they had hardened. From what I understand from my ID, you cannot buy these rubber strips from outside retailers cos they do not sell them in loose pieces. You either have to replace the whole door or have them `oiled'. To have it `oiled', it has to be done by a contractor and it needs to be done every six months. I forgot to ask how much to do it each time. I'm still thinking whether to replace the door or to do it half yearly......
