  1. I switch on my cove lights all the time coz i really love the ambience it creates and it is bright enough most of the time.
  2. Hi there, I'm not an expert in WM. But here are some of the things I look out for when choosing one: 1) How many Kg load? Depends on family size and your needs. 2) Top load or front load? I think front load uses less water but more electricity. Top load uses more water but can be energy-saving. I didnt buy front load cos there is a rubber thingy at the door and you have to dry it after use, if not the rubber will rot. But I guess you can just keep the door open to dry it naturally. Front load cannot open the door once there is water inside but top load can. The washing time for front load is much much longer. For my topload, i can finish a wash in abt 45mins time. I find it time-saving esp I tend to wash a few rounds (tend to accumulate my load ) Front load can have more functions and their washes might be gentler and cleaner. Some toploads can spin very fast and end up the clothes are entangled. That's why i bought a F&P wm as it has an agitator in the middle. Washes are cleaner and clothes wont entangle. There are also different spin speed for gentler washes. 3) Budget. Front load usually costs a lot more than top load. Btw, I bought a F&P 7.5kg topload (Model: GWC12). Personally, I like the brand. heh..so i'm biased here. Hope this helps!
  3. Hi, it depends on the wall. If it is not a feature or fake wall, there will be exposed wires. You can buy this long greyish tube-looking thing from Ikea. You can hide all your wires in this tube. of coz the tube will be exposed la...but better than seeing many wires hanging down. My friend used this and I thought it looked pretty okie.
  4. Hi firestarter, Oh, I thought gain city's workmanship is good...maybe things have changed. haha. btw, are you getting a contractor or ID to do your house? Perhaps you can ask for their contact? Mine is 18 BTU for the LR and 9 for the 3 rooms each.
  5. Hi firestarter, I've just finished renovation for my house...so it's very recent. heh. Mine costs about $3800 for inverter. I think your budget is okie. The person who did my aircon was my FIL's contact. Perhaps you can try gain city. Heard they are quite reputable. The aircon person would be able to advise you how much btu you need and recommend the type of system.
  6. Hmmm...what is the reason for letting the fridge sit for 2 hrs? When the guy delivered my fridge, he just told me to on for 2 hrs for it to be fully cold. In fact, the guy switched it on for me straight away.
  7. Hi, I'm using system 4 from Mitsubishi, Starmex for my living room and 3 bedrooms. I've install a door for my kitchen so the aircon from the living room doesnt escape to the kitchen. It depends on how big your living room is and whether you are doing open kitchen concept. Also, what is the possibility of you switching on aircon in all your rooms at any one time... that would affect your choice of system.
  8. If it is the E440TRX, then it is not very new i think. Coz I've seen newer design. But though it is not as new, I think it is still very nice.
  9. Hi, the shop is at 1 Kakit Bukit Road 1 #01-13 Singapore 416175. There are other furniture shops around the corner too!
  10. Hi, I got a F&P fridge. Also 4 ticks. What model are you looking at? Mine is top freezer, shiny stainless steel finish. 680mm in width.
  11. Hi, i got my full leather sofa from Navinci. I find their staff service very good and the sofa was delivered promptly. The feel of the leather is really good.
  12. Not sure about Mode...but i love Lush furniture! Very clean and modern.
  13. Hi there, mine was $2300 for day and night curtains for LR, rollar blinds for the 2 room and roman blinds for my MBR. The lady brought the materials to my house for me to choose and she was pretty efficient in getting it done. The workmanship and service are good. i thought mine was quite ex...i think the materials and the length of your windows can affect the pricing.
  14. I'm using a Jovan water storage heater. I only need to install 1 at the service yard and I can have hot water at the 2 bathrooms. The retaintion of the hot water is good.
