YeaH Forkie! I've learnt my lesson. During the last bargain with Henry (just before we signed up with him), I even walked away, left them alone until hubby Kiwi called me back to Henry's office. Your renovation is going to complete. Envy~~

Hee... I think my hubby Kiwi will be the mean one. I'm superrrrrrrrrrrr lousy in bargaining. Everytime I will side the contractors/ID when hubby Kiwi starts to bargain. Kiwi: Uncle, can lower the price abit? Contractor/ID: ... (-.-") Me: Huh? Then you expect uncle earn what? Kiwi: SHUT UP!!!

Hi Forkie, Thanks thanks! Hee... Hubby Kiwi likes the idea very much, he insisted. & the ID & contractor we met said can be done & measured to show us. We are not going to do top cabinet. I know in future might need more space for storage, but what to do, he likes it & he is the Finance Controller. 1 more thing, our floorplan is out of scale. Hee... Excited for the renovation!!! Hihi, Phew~ Finally decided & signed up with Henry today. Just back from his firm, can't wait to share my happiness with you guys! I'm happy with his quote, of course at the same time, hubby Kiwi & I are worried too. We dun want to loan from bank, we are using cash, very tight. Hope we able to manage well till the last payment. Told Henry we prefer to start renovation in end of Sep (after 7th mth). He said no problem. In mid August, he will bring us to select the tiles and others. Hubby Kiwi & I are looking forward as many of you have mentioned that the process is fun! Hee... & I need you guys' advices too. What items should I prepare for Henry to install during the renovation? Toilet bowl x2, basin x2, WC accessories, hob (not buying hood) & sink... What else? &... Hubby Kiwi and I still like Uncle Ah Soon. Met him 2 weeks ago. He has new hair cut! Look so fresh! I was moody on that day cos I read from forum that someone is going to report him to HDB. He was laughing and chatting with hubby Kiwi, I feel upset for him. Anyway, he is too busy for us too. As for Mr. Yeak, always last min have things cropped up (either his or my side), then no choice, give him up. No matter who is going to do our nest, I'll keep update the photo to contribute everyone here! YEAH!

Dear all, I think Supersimon27's Henry is not from Impress21. Hee... Met Henry last Sun, he is a cheerful guy. Higher $ but highly recommended by Supersimon27. Johnson from North West is like a shy and good looking guy. His quote is slightly lower than Henry's. Lower $ but poor reviews (North West, not Johnson lar) from forum. Now Hubby Kiwi and I will decide who's the "winner" after viewing their projects. Supersimon27, Wonder will we be arranged to view your house hor? Hee... I'm so paisei that we have such tight budget, yet still asking for so much...

Not going to engage Uncle... Cos of his quote... Ya... We admit that we want the BEST price and MANY items. We are too greedy! Still sourcing... Johnson from * and Henry recommended by Supersimon27 are in our list.

Wonder is Johnson and Johny same pax???

I am considering to engage Johnson from NW. So far his attitude and service are good, and his quote is one of the lowest with almost all the items we want. Less than 28k for overhaul a 4A resale flat. My hubby and I have tight budget, we plan to go ahead with Johnson after visit one of his projects next week if we're satisfied with the workmanship. Wish us luck!

Hi blue diamond, The condition of windows and walls is really bad. No choice. This $ can't be saved. Hi Pinkpetter, ya... no other carpentry cos we wanna save $ for those "Must-Be-Done" items. But still so high... We'll go S&C to purchase wardrobes, etc... S&C is highly recommended by you guys here too.

Dear all, Thanks for replying. Uncle did not quote TV feature wall in cos he doesnt know what kinda material we are looking for. Kiwi is better in Sha Jiao than me. And I'm very poor in bargaining and a lousy decision maker. Better let Kiwi do the job. We are waiting for uncle's 2nd quotation. He said will email us yesterday, but I just checked, no email from him. Know his pattern from you guys, am not that disappointed now. The quotation is with Kiwi. I can rem some main items: 1. Overlay the floor in living rooms, 3 bedrooms & storeroom. 2. Relocate door of MBR. 3. Cement screed kitchen wall w/o hacking. 4. Hack and redo both toilets (includes its window, pipes, shower screen, basin, floor and wall tiles) 5. Plastering whole unit (the house's condition really CMI) 6. Painting whole unit (Kiwi suggests we do the painting ourselves, oh no...) 7. Change window grille & windows in living room and 1 of the common rooms. 8. Change window in MBR and the other common room. 9. Change main door grille, paint the door. 10. L-shape (island) kitchen cabinet with solid surface top. 11. bifold door for toilet and frosted glass door for MBR toilet. 12. Covelight in living room I cant think of any other now...

Dear all, Ya... Maybe bcos our nest's condition is really too bad, that's y need to do more things esp toilets & kitchen. Uncle did advise what are needed or not necessary to do. Here minus there deduct = $30200. Sob sob... He charges us the shelving thing in storerm too. Hubby Kiwi said he will Sha Jiao to uncle, persuading him to give more d/c when he comes back with 2nd quotation.

So disappointed... What uncle quotes us is over $30k.

Morning Pinkpetter, We got our keys last mth. And uncle visited our nest to quote too le. Last Fri received his call (I never expect he'll call me, i intend to chase his quotation in July). He said our quotation is ready. So we decided to meet him at our nest last Sat. But he last min flew us plane. So change to Monday (yesterday), he flew plane again. & hubby kiwi is going to meet him today after work, hope he will turn up. Hubby kiwi asked uncle how much he quoted over the phone, uncle refuses to reveal the figure. Haha... Oh ya... The flu thing.. My sis is going to TW with me & hubby Kiwi, her sch requests her to leave her hotel and contact to sch wor. Hope we won't be asked for self-quarrantine when we back...

Oh... Uncle flew me plane last Sat and flew my hubby Kiwi's plane just now. Hope he'll appear tomorrow with our quotation. Feel disappointed, but expected. Hehe... Knew his style through you guys Pinkpetter, Ya... My sis keeps Hao Lian to me that she can sleep till zi ran xing! *&^%$#@

不敢要求full attention啦。我只希望尽快签到合适的contractor，知道大概会花的数目，我就能安心地准备别的事了。 当装修的日子逼近时，“休闲”了几个月的我们应该是做足了心理&金钱方面的准备，向前冲刺了！ 哈哈…总归一句话，我太怕输了。 看到Kiwi气定神闲“慢慢来”的pattern，我真是不顺眼。 好不容易找到心仪的房子，却只有我想尽早搬进去。

Oh! I think I'll contact him again after 2-3 weeks ba. 1.5-2 months!!!??? Luckily Kiwi plans to start in Oct. We have more than 3 months for uncle to drag (But I'm impatient!!!) Nonononono... We won't dare to sit and shake our legs. What I meant is we can relax & focus on other preparation, no need to source ard for contractors/IDs, asking for quotations anymore. Feel sick of repeating what we want for our nest No problem! We'll get ourselves prepared for the challenge if his quote is within our budget

I do have this worries too. But too bad, Kiwi likes this concept very much. He is the one paying, he speaks louder Yeah! An ID suggests this to us before too!
