Very nice design ! Looks so spacious, simple and nice. That is what i wanted too. Sadly i will be moving out from Tampines to the other end of Sg.. ZzZZzz Have to sacrifice the location for my little girl since my in laws can help to take care of my kid. I have the idea of having L box with ceiling fan too. But i could not get past of the irritating casing coming out in the middle. Kinda lost the purpose of having L box if I still get to see the ugly wire casing running on the ceiling.

Hmmm you sure HDB disallow enclosed of balcony ? I had just bought a flat with a weird balcony with no roofing. Not really a fan of a open balcony since rubbish and rain will keep landing on the balcony. Worst is prone of burglary ! So i checked with various IDs and contractors on the possibilty of roofing up the balcony and add windows as well. Most reply that is possible but subjected to HDB approval. Best is to check out neighbouring blks with same structure and see if any1 do it. Thats wad i did. Found an owner who did roofing and have a chat with her. She confirmed she got approval from HDB and so i took some pictures to support my claim. Ask my ID to apply for the approval and confirmed HDB will approve of my request. Picture

Well..... the reason most people did not use this material is the cost i think. The price is pretty much on par with granite, higher even. Actually i ask my ID to check with his supplier if they have silestone. So he got me some samples and let me test. I still have 4 pc at my place right now. Even this material pretty much as durable as granite... ( hopefully coz i only read it in online no confirm cases of owners using it yet ) The color definitely lose out to granite. Looks dull if compared to granite. Granite have deeper color which is much nicer.

Nothing much to share at the moment cuz even though I had confirmed using this material as my kitchen/vanity top. I am still in the midst of selecting the color right now. I did see a few samples, tried scratching it with keys and stuffs. Pretty much satisfied with it as it only have a few little scratches which can be wipe/polish off easily. Was hoping if the supplier have more range of colors that i saw from online. I will make a trip down on coming weekends to take a look on the other samples.

It has been so long but DID any1 use Silestone ? Any comments on it ? Currently i am asking my ID to check out this material as I am quite keen to use it for my kitchen/Vanity tops. Seems likely this may be more expensive then granite but the properties of this material seems pretty hassle free !

Quartz countertop ? I believe you guys are talking about Silestone top rite ? I am looking into this material for my kitchen/vanity top as well. From web I did see lots and lots of color as this is man made material. Selection is abundant. Only problem is whether there is varieties in SG ornot. Read a thread in here and it seems to be a very good material. It has almost all the granite properties except the deep color.... But easier maintenance, uniformed throughout, no need sealant and no linings !

Well... this may be my 1st post but... This coy was 1 of then coy i had contacted to discuss about my reno for a 4A HDB. A G designer (?) entertained me and show me a layout that he proposed. Not really appealed to me so I told him 1 want a TV feature wall to be mounted on the wall with a niche beside. So can he plan something to make use of the niche like perhaps design a cabinet to flush and make it like a concealed cabinet. Now the fun part come.. he tried to sketch something out of what I described, honestly he did not seem to be well verse in basic 3d drawing ? The funniest part was even a simple 2d drawing he also had a problem to draw something out. Just some funny rectangles to me...
