  1. i bought my altar in bugis. They custom-made a white altar for a customer and still has stock. It's simple, clean cut, and the drawers and cabinets are without handles (more trendy). But the seller actually said that white is hard to maintain, cuz they sprayed white paint. Once scratched or stained, hard to remove. Mine's walnut (almost black) with lines in glossy finish. i saw from magazine an unit with the white altar like a cube suspended from the wall (built-in). And there's lights on top. Very nice! Looks more like display though.
  2. Hi Decruz, How much does ur living room celing fan cost? colour looks nice and can match the warm orange lights. ur white wallpaper with the bling bling one looks more like cement with design! texture is good, doesnt look like wallpaper.
  3. Hi CybNox, is the promo still on? not sure how the prices are measured. anyway, can u pls PM me his contact? thanks in advance... beautiful and cosy home u have!
  4. hi wtc, juz my two cents worth, i guess it's quite common to have L-box in bedroom, but it could be L-shaped, not square-shaped. L-box can be used to cover the possibly unsightly hooks and rod for the curtains, and also for installing downlights..so depending on the type of lights u wan in ur bedroom. shd consider practicality, else waste electricity.. btw, ceiling fan shdnt be too low, if u believe in fengshui, as it may cause "stress"...
  5. i smsed too...i even told them the reasons why i reject them...saying that the ID we are engaging has offered ideas which we would be taking up, and has offered quotation within our budget... there's nothing better than being sincere and honest in the reasons of rejection...tactful and yet, don't give them false hope...
  6. Hi people, would like your advice to find out if it's better to overlay or hack kitchen and toilets' wall and floor tiles...mine's a resale 5-room HDB unit of around 9 yrs... if overlaying, i would save around 1-2K...but not sure if overlaying instead of hacking the tiles would result to more costly problems in future? would overlaying last nicely?
  7. hi PGal, why aren't u doing fridge base? as for air-conditioners, i just chanced upon this article in renotalk. can take a look. http://www.renotalk.com/main/review0107102...w0107102006.php i personally like mitsubishi brand... u must also check which type is easy to clean...some aren't...hard to maintain...
  8. Categan, thanks for sharing! i also feel that we as the first-timers, should do more homework and research, and not believe any one agent, contractor, co-ordinator/planner or whoever is helping in our wedding/house easily.. but sunshine and rainbow come after the storm! hope u n ur hubby are well...treat it as an experience but don't bear grudges anymore...not good for u... juz my two cents worth..
  9. will such companies cover scratches or polish the existing tiles first before they apply paint? I thought of overlaying, but also worried that the new tiles will come off, water may seep thru the old tiles and cause rotting..
