  1. haven stain, cos i haven even gotten the keys!!! anyway, u can buy the paint for staining in DIY stores. One small can ranges from $25 to $45. I read the instructions and it looks pretty easy, so u can do it urself if u wanna...
  2. nope...not changing the air-con...just letting the aircon guys see what can be done to the aircon pipes in the common bathroom before the hacking and laying of tiles....
  3. yeah i agree with wat u say...i think they shld have made some improvements...dunno how the older pana washing machine looks like...but in the current version, the exposed screw is actually in a recess, so it might be harder for threads to get entangle....and hopefully with the improved aqua beat, stray threads find it harder to reach the screw at the bottom....haha...
  4. icic...hehe...gonna leave it as it is for the time being....and let the aircon guys take a look first....
  5. yeah.okies...i decided not to think abt it anymore and let the aircon pros go up and take a look. hehe..thanks for the advice looking at wallpaper now to find a code...
  6. yeah, many of wifey's relatvies said why dun we change the aircon. But i dun wanna change since its good and as you said, used until spoil then change loh. save some money. My ID gave me assurance that they cut the false ceiling open, it will look as good as new after they patch up the hole. play winning 11...i think earliest must wait till mid august...no time to play now
  7. yeah there is aircon in the other 2 bedroom, living room and MBR ....anyway, just spoke to my potential ID that if i wanna change new aircon or change new pipes, definitely have to cut open the false ceilings. no two way abt it.
  8. yeah..will be staying for at least 5 years . but even if i change a new aircon, they must lay the aircon pipes to the other bedrooms. So the issue here is can it be done without cutting up the false ceilings? can the pipes be "pushed thru" the false ceilings to the other side....
  9. the aircon was installed 5 years ago with the false ceilings and the rest of the renovations. I dun wanna cut the false ceilings, that's for sure. By "flushing the current pipes", do u mean removing the old pipes by pulling them out from the aircon trunking and then "pushing" the new pipes thru the aircon trunking inside the false ceiling all the way to the other side of the living room? if so, my false ceiling will definitely stay intact! *fingers crossed*
  10. yup, it does look thick. The skirting in my current house is also ~1cm thick.
  11. ya bro, forget abt them since u already signed on with another ID....hehe...let's worry abt which washing machine to get and more....hahaha
  12. ya hor....maybe will rust....but i think panasonic pple shld have thought of the kind of screw to used to prevent rust. But then again, they din anticipate this thread-kena-stuck in the screw prob also. haiz....was aiming this washer for so long.... which hitachi model are u talking abt?
  13. Hi greenpeace, we are thinking of getting the panasonic top load 9kg because of the Aquabeat and Ag stuff etc etc....but was informed by another forummer that several pansonic users warned that for panasonic, there is an exposed screw at the bottom of the drum and so stray threads might get caught in it and get damaged in the process. I flipped thru my panasonic brochure and indeed saw an exposed screw but i am not sure if it really wld caused the above said problem. Dunno other brands of washing machines have this exposed screw thing anot. will go check it out at the electronics shop tml.
  14. wah, i din know that....ok man...i will go check it out...thanks for the warning
  15. You might wanna consider this panasonic one, also 9kg, AG crystal shower with AquaBeat wash..$699 in Best Denki b4 disc. No stock in Mustafa ($625). 40% energy savings some more. Panasonic NA-F90H1LRQ
  16. How abt Soon bee huat? any good abt them?
  17. Wah, uncle soon good sia...hehe... Dun stress dun stress....must be more relax when choosing tiles cos u wanna be relaxed next time in the toilet in order to poo...hehe...kidding... be more relaxed then can choose the tiles that u really like...dun be pressure by time or paiseh that u keep changing ur mind. cos ultimately u are the one paying for it...have fun!
  18. Today encountered some problems with aircon trunking after some talks with one of our future IDs. We plan to hack the common toilet tiles but there is an aircon trunk-box (dunno wat u call it) that runs around the toilet's walls. So ID say might have to remove the trunking and then re-connect but this might cos future gas or water leakage and air-con wun be cold. Anyone have any solution to this or encounter this problem? And also the aircon trunking also runs out thru the comon toilet wall into the living room, cut across the false ceiling (that is inside the false ceiling, so it cannot be seen) and into bedroom 2 and 3 on the other side of the living room. So to re-lay new aircon pipes, does anyone know whether we can just "push" the new pipes into the existing aircon trunk box across the living room or do we have to cut open the false ceiling to lay the new pipes???
  19. Lite Vault is in the same building as Evov Living ( hope i get the spelling correct), I think is Balestier Point. Dream Lights is opp Balestier plaza. Thanks for the tip! The light with the bubble bulbs is from Place of Lights. Luckily we are not getting from them. There is another light shop down the road in the same builing as Square Room I think, who is not so honest. The shop girl pointed a resin ceiling light to us and told us that its Alabaster light. We later learnt about the difference between resin and Alabaster and the huge price difference between them. Any recommended light shops to go to?
  20. We went to nearly all the lights shop in Balestier. The $2300 light is in Lite Vault. But i have to say, the uncle is very honest. We saw a bubble ceiling fan, but he is honest to tell us tat its not PSB approved. So based on this, we got a feeling that the high price tag of the light is to prevent neighbouring shops from undercutting their prices. We also went to Lumiere, Chan Huat, Palace of Lights and Dream Lights.
  21. i think so too... price tag is $2300, but i anyhow asked can lower a bit...he straight away say "i give u at $600"... tat's why we are sketical abt the one tat we are interested...whether the original price tag of $1400+ and discounted price of $960 is bogus anot.
  22. But then all these did not matter when she saw the last one....at the very last shop, which we didn't even wanna enter in the first place cos we were famished and wanna call it a day. $960 after discount (original $1400+).....got kena potong? haven buy yet.
  23. Hi Hi everyone...! we went to Balestier to check out the bathroom stuffs and lightings and we ame back with some pictures for our dining light...but all is not firm yet...cos it seems the prices are very flexible one. Example, from $2300 for a ceiling light, the uncle can straight away quote us $600. Make us wonder if we will get potong anot... The very first one we saw which wifey like (not me!)...price tag is $2300 (gasp!)...but uncle straight away gave us $600...(phew! + hmmm?) This second one which caught wifey's eyes and remained the firm favourites throughout the day....ALMOST. She requested for the bubble rods to be changed to 40mm crystal balls, hence its customised at a quote of $480. The third one we saw is actually the one she had in mind (after customising the previous picture). So no need to customised but need $1000+...HOw come????
  24. okies...thank you very much...
