At last! I am back. I am very very busy lately due to a screwup by my "high tech" Samsung washing machine. Really a piece of "ShXX"! I need to thank Patrick for coming down early on monday morning to change the washing machine inlet himself. Wa! Super steady Patrick can do it. LOL! I never ask him whether he is a plumber before he become boss or not. Within 5 mins, he settle and go. The missing power point is attached easily by the electrician..hehe! Very steady! My so call washing machine is not so steady liao. Tried washing my clothings during the full load then realise water drain out 80% but cannot drain out. Bo pian call Samsung technician down... 1st technician came down tell me my washing machine base is not flat and is tilted..Well, I tell him bull****! Washing machine got 2 legs can adjust one mah...The technician tell us even after adjusting the 2 legs, still not able to compensate as my base is badly tilted...He told us his eyes can see the tilting...haha! I wanna laugh my head off. He then place to piece of tiles on the rear of my washing machine and say done... I am super pissed off and I asked Ho Bee guys to help measure the flatness of the washing machine base. After measurement, there is no uneven or tilting..#$%$%#$%$#%. Call Samsung service center and complain to the supervisor in charge...The supervisor assured me he will send his best guy down to have a look... Idiot! Trying to resolve this issue for 3 days liao also cannot solve...Sian 1/2. At last, the so call best guy "Sifu" come down. In my mind, i am so happy so this time surely the best guy can solve...1st thing tell me I load too much clothing into the washing machine already...Can only load 50%. Then he start telling me, the washing machine can only take 10kg capacity (10kg = clothes + water, not clothes)...Wa lau!!!!!%#$%^$%^$%^$! Idiot lei! Why I disagree: 1) Washing capacity = clothes loaded mah... 2) A washing machine average consume 70l of water per wash which weighs 70kg already...Dunno what he is talking about lah...If a washing machine can only take a load of 10kg (water + clothes), then company close down liao... Next, he tell me water cannot drain out because of drainage hose too long and drainage pipe on base too tall...Really really sian.. 1) I told him the 1st technician already cut away > 50% of the original hose already...still too long? 2) The drainage pipe on base is standard length one mah....My contractor build so many water outlet, will build wrongly? Anyway, I ask him what is the correct height...He say he dunno...Kana Sai! Dunno what is the correct height still say ppl's outlet too tall....Wa Lan! Experience expert...PUI PUI PUI!!!!!!!! Anyway, call the manager and say thank u very much, please take the washing machine back and please dont even come again...haha! Well, need to wait for them to take my washing machine back and then buy a new one... Bo pian lah...Next one maybe try panasonic inverter... Really rush like a mad dog these few days...Really have to thank Patrick for his patience in supporting this stupid washing machine saga... Reno almost complete. Now left with ceiling because I decide to remove part of my false ceiling to cater for a ceiling fan...Last phase...Chiong ah!!!!!

Who is suppose to install fan? The shop u purchase from or your own contractor? Still must buy bracket outside? Sounds dumb lei. It is like your sell fried rice without frying it. Haha!

For those who install ceiling fan, do we have to follow the HDB guide? Seems like most dont meet the weight specs. Installation of ceiling fan Weight of fan should not exceed 6 kg Clear height from finished floor level to fan blades should be at least 2.4 m Hardened steel expanding bolt should not exceed 8 mm in diameter and penetration depth of steel plug should not exceed 40 mm Thank u.

they give 5 years warranty against workamnship. Actually I kana a screwup lei. My washing machine once put in, it blocks the door bcos the washing machine inlet is obstructing. Also, electrician never build a power point for washing machine. Aiyo! So cockup! Initally, there is a PowerPoint but electrician remove it lah. Kana sai! Tell patrick already but the cute thing is 6 pairs of eyes all never spot this mistakes lei. Me, my wife, my mum, Patrick, electrician, carpentry at can't spot! Haha! Huge screwup but dunno point finger to who.

Well, it is like this...I feel it is extremely difficult to meet a good contractor.. What I can say is I met up with contractors many time worst..I think it is time someone like Radac/ HDB flex their muscle but sad to say, I dont think possible

What is the issue of solid surface? Did the carpenter write the wrong color? They pass me a box of samples to choose and to my surprise, the one I selected is different from the samples they have on hand. Wow! The copy they loan to us is a bit old liao. Lucky my tank itchy open up their version to check. If they make wrongly, ask them to change. As for your door, if you didn't tell them to varnish and you didn't ask them to quote before hand, don't pay lah. Not your fault right? As for cleaning, they did clean for me and I intend to ask them to clean again when everything is done n all minor stuff are rectified.

If you have engage master chang, then it is ok to ignore your friend unless he is master chang's teacher. For any queries, it is good to ask master chang. I don't recall him tell me must have 1, 2 or 3 burners but he is concern with the stove position.

Probably the 1st is to ask what is your expectation? Will you on your living room aircon often? Do u need the aircon to be very cooling? Do you have a budget limitation. These are following alternatives: 1) Install new system 4 invertor. Probably $4500. Just my estimate from what I check from shops. However, I don't think u can on all 4 fan coil at the same time. Probably 3 room or 2 room + 1 living or 1 room + 1 living. This is what I am told by some sales. 2) Leave the current aircon as it is and no need to change trunking etc unless they got issue. 2 years not considered old. Add a system 1 for your living room. I am not very fond of those portable system. They are really weak despite some salesman tell me they are very good. To me, rubbish unless their compressor is huge like those system unit. Adding a system one should cost u less than $2000.

seriously speaking, contractors etc are very difficult to deal. Extremely difficult. I never ever met anyone who never have a problem with contractors/ ID unless you are those rich and famous or some solid lawyers. Usually contractors are more vocal as compared to any professionals because they are train this way. I ever clash so bad with my ex contractor till I nearly ask my friend to issue him a lawyer letter. End of the day, they don't care about lawyer letters bcos worst case, die only lor. Those were the days where I am a young chap. Now I am in my early 30s and probably I have learnt already from my mistakes. I always try to mingle around with the contractors/ workers which I try to speak more hokkien, buy them drinks, don't push them so hard. Then when something happen, I don't raise my voice and threaten them with lawyer letters which works much much better. Any issue happen, I just tell them nicely saying cannot accept etc and they will gladly do it for me. I won't say Ho Bee are perfect but rather they have some pride in their work. There are definately some miscommunication because there is no black and white drafted, 3D, 2D drawing etc but so far, still acceptable. One great thing about Patrick is he never asked me for any $. He started even before I make my 1st payment due to time contrainst and after a couple of days, I have to personally call him over to collect the cheque because I feel he already carry out too much work. My wife and I are so "pai seh" that we have to be automatic. It seems to me that Patrick has disappear since I engage him but my mum who is helping me monitor my proj told me Patrick is at my place every couple of days to have a look at the progress. Haha! Seriously, I am very surprise because he is someone who rarely speak a lot but yet do a lot of things behind. Just my personal experience and I hope my proj will complete smoothly within the next one week.

this plan is drawn by myself so no secret lah. Just don't release the version drawn by master with lots of lines. Thinking back, I still own bro bepof a photo. Haha! As for my room with partition, my bro is staying there temp while he is waiting for his new house. Initially, master mention better for his bed to move to the current side but it sort of clash with door. He is happier there with the partition bcos it gives more privacy. No issue with air flow bcos there is wind, fan plus my whole house Excep kitchen is fully aircon.

I have installed all the Blum hinges and it seems like u need a large force before the door will swing close. Anyone have this experience?

if it is convenient, pls share. Reason is bcos some contractor used to be good but due to some reason become no good. Some even close down so I believe we have a chance, we should share and prevent things from happening. I feel we should share the pro n cons of every contractor so that we can prevent ppl from getting trap.

can share who is ur fsm? Most will say block bcos I show plan to 3 fsm before. Direct door / window facing is no good. One of my friend didn't put bcos she mention fsm says her house qi very good
