  1. Hi claricegzh, From the photos, you are from skyville? Cos my initial guess was Skyterrace. I will be your neighbour in another 5 yrs time. The empty plot right behind skyterrace will be allocated for the SERS* replacement flat for Commowealth residents which will be our first choice selection beside the other choices offered. (*This will be one of the selected plot, the rest will be at margaret drive old hawker and wet market plot, one will be behind Commonwealth Tower and 2 other at the empty lots next to the existing Dawson flats. http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10297p.nsf/ImageView/CORPORATE_PR_27062014_ANNEX%20E-E5/$file/Annex+E-E5.pdf) If you are in skyterrace, there will be another 2 yrs of so for the enjoyment of the view now before the construction work begin (completion will be 2020 for our key collection). So excited to see a Dawson project in the forum and will love to see the wondeful transformation of your lovely place. Have a smooth renovation, cheers
  2. Hi Mr & Mrs JohnB, Happy Chinese New Year! Sorry was super busy lately and was really late to check the reply. We love cleanline design as in minimalist or sleek industrial style of design. The next home will be a mix of everything as in : pandoma or cement + tiles + laminate flooring for different area. If the pandoma price is not too 'scary', we would love to have it for our kitchen to the dining section and pair up with either cement/natural stones lookalike seamless tile or dark wood grain seamless tiles. All depend our final layout in the later part. In fact, without the actual dimension of the floor plan it's kinda of hard to decide now. And I need to get back to my dawing board too for planning the interior decor. Anyway, I still have 6 years to plan for everything including the design. So have you decide the countertop?? LG Hi-macs new series looks cool, and quartz top was in my consideration list too....hahahaha How about Kompacplus top? I quite like the sleek seamless design featured in their website. Have fun on your renovation and hope everything all smoothly.
  3. Hi JohnB, Din expect to see the Pandomo Floor & Wall recommendation here. Saw it at a Taiwanese renovation program and love the look and effect of it. Care to share how much is the quote for the flooring? If price still meet the budget, I would love to have it for my next new home. Thanks
  4. Hi Huiqing, Thank you so much for the contact Hope that you have a smooth reno. Look forward to see the final result.
  5. Hi Fingercrossed, This also the floor trap that i'm aiming for but not for current house of course. Been checking out all the renovation stuff and accessories online. You can find it locally too but price wise will be more expensive to get from TB. For those interested, here is the site: http://www.jonite.com/products/floor-traps But not sure are they willing to sell direct to the consumer or we have to get through their retailers.
  6. hi huiqing, Congratulation for your new place . Love your selection of the lightings. The simplicity of it really suit for industrial scandi or industrial minimalist theme design. It's doesn't matter for starting off with a small or big house, more important is not to overstretch the financial limit. To be honest, we will be getting a 3rm replacement flat too (under SERS program for my neighbourhood) and still a long way to go for my flat selection and signing of all documents. As you can see, I'm kinda kiasu person . Even since we had completed our renovation in end 2009, I was like quietly fade out in the forum. So everything has to be restart again, reading old and new T-blogs, taking notes on the ID's info, checking designs online and save in our mood board, calculating how much we need to spend for reno and other things. My friends (all staying in the same neighbourhood) are like: ''huh!? why now? Still a long way to go and it'll be in 6yrs down the road". But think about it, reading a ton load of materials were not an easy job. Plus my sis BTO flat will be completed in another 1.5 or 2yrs time. All these will be handy in the later part. Sorry for the long nag. Love to see the complete reno of your place. Do update us with more reno photos and review of your ID. P/S: Do you mind to share/pm the contact for your electrician?
  7. Hi Rover, Cool seeing another black hse. Into my 3rd year staying in one too;) oso a 3-rm, guess mine will be smaller than yours as it's at a super old estate.
  8. Hi Vanessa & Kim76, Can check up Frankman's Tblog for Alibaba or Taobao stuff. He ordered a whole container of TB items from a local freight forwarder which happen to have a logistic office in Guangzhou. He personally checked all forwarders to get the best quote to bring in from China includes the custom clearance. For details, can drop a note at his Tblog. Hope the informations will give u a little help. Have a Good Day~
  9. Sold my 4A unit (113 sqm) 2 yrs back. It's low floor unit but 3 mins to MRT with condo view (one bedroom is facing the condo pool) and new lakeside development going on near the mrt. Within 0.5km in one of the top primary school in that area...lol (we wanted to sell to young couple so they can make good use on this point but too bad). Well kep unit eventhough we'd stayed there for 9 yrs. Initially we put up a 36k COV but we sold it to a middle age couple with 3 daughters for 16k instead. Basically depend on how sincere the buyer and also do u like them during the discussion. They need the unit urgently so we put in express transaction request and after signing the final papers, they did a simply alternation and happily move in to my old place. Both parties are delighted in the end.
  10. hi scl8k, sorry for replying late....hope tat u're still searching for your hod & hood. I would said so far so good except some rust did appeared on the surface of the hob now and it could be due to the wrong cleaning detergent tat we'd used. Still trying to make it less obvious. Supposed to be a package set but we don't like the slimline hood offered and they do allow us to change it to chimney type so we just top up the different between the two. Package price is $858 incl. GST. We got it from Mayer Store @Jurong Point. Look for Azman, he's really veri helpful if u intend to get it. Btw, Mayer is having their 23rd Annivesary sale now till 22/Oct. The indesit chimney hood is selling @$339 (UP $599) and washer, dryer, dishwasher @23% off. Good deal now. *HOB - Baby type 60cm with 4 burners and safety feature to cut off the gas supply if the fire went off w/o knowing. *HOOD - 60cm with 650m3/hr extraction power, come with 3 suction switching mode.
  11. hi scl8k, sorry it's been a while since my last log on. Don't come here that often now. carpentry work all done by my contractor fren....can't realli recall for the breakdown on the kitchen itself. Blum stuff including all hinges and drawer runners for whole hse is abt 1k (additional cost which bore by us). He help us to get it from the direct dealer which is cheaper. my countertop is using LG solid surface which is the higher grade compare to other solid surface brands (except corian, two are on par). I got it @special price from my manager (ex-staff...he's kind enough to give me a special rate). My total reno cost alone: 48k+ (it's ex for a 3-rm)
  12. hi MohGuan, i oso love those pre-war houses @tiong bahru but the cov is realli killing. Plus no lift so we scrapped the idea of getting one there. However, someone i know thru few of my mutual frens stay there but she had bought a 3-rm landed hdb near balestier so currently her 3yrs old (she stayed there onli 3 yrs) tiong bahru flat has been rented out instead. To be honest, i have not been to her place but her place was featured in one of the past isse Home & Decor mag. Basically, she had all the money to do up the place and oso her job. She worked in SPH as associate creative director for one of the high fashion mag. But i do like some of her ideas on her old place. Now her new place is a old skool look....more retro style. Juz a share, maybe u might like the idea (btw, she stay on e top floor too and as a onli unit on the top, she do a wrought garden gate on the stairway leading to her unit and put a nice chandelier on the stairway...private and nice personal touch) http://www.homeanddecor.com.sg/homes/creat...aces?page=0%2C0 p/s: she oso a kartell's fan
  13. long brown stripes??? Sorry juspink19, but I just din get u....u mean the strings curtains or ???? hi limmike, mine is frosted black glass not in tinted brown.....come in a package cost more than 4k for bedroom alone (like a glass room). if u have caught the episode on okto last tue (home design program @11pm), u able to see another 3-rm design but in white frosted glass...oso a glass rm design. Quite surprise to see tat someone share same idea as mine.
  14. Wah, tat's expensive. Not sure isit consider cheap to u....but cost me $39.90 for this and I got a white ochid (potted too) and a red color indoor potted plant for my toilet and some other gardening stuff. Will need to go down again to see any special cny small potted flowers to decorate my place.
  15. Sorry, why I keep thinking is Supreme leh??? Blur mind. Prego has a ofc here and I'd visited their ofc cum showrm b4 with my gf. Know their ofc is somewhere near Centra Mall @Clark Quay. Along the stretch of shophses. Dun think I still keep their contact....aiyo.
  16. Hi vhardono, The pot is come together with my plant for one price (juz the pot itself I think a bit ex if I still need to get the plant) but they do sell the pot alone. I got mine from FarEast Floral @Ridout Garden near Queenstown/Holland Rd (opp the old Commonweath 16th storey housing estate, hope u know where isit). They have some veri nice pots there with different sizes. And if u dun drive, they have the delivery service @$20 per location. They accept credit cards too for payment. Happy shopping
  17. hi annjoy, Mine is a contractor rather a ID firm. Yes, I provide my internal layout and the dimensions for it but my contractor fren did sit down and go thru the dimension with us. Cos I need to give the plank allowance in between the shelving and drawers too. Juz some small changes so overall still something we wanted. I juz took out 1 small shelving aft all the calculation and extend some sizes.
  18. Hi gantan, saw the photos on the skirting, no one will accept it for sure. Or maybe u wld like to contact Supreme Flooring directly?? I almost getting Supreme too but my contractor fren told me tat they like going to close down their ofc in here so I hold back and took another brand. I think without the proper documentation on the agreement, it will be quite hard to ask for the compensation and not sure CASE will be able to accept it too. Wat u can do is maybe try to take more photos of your hse reno as a support prove on the job they had done. Sorry I cant't help much.
  19. Forget to put up the pic of the glass bedrm with the light on. Took it in one of the night while drinking and suddenly recall I din take any photo on my glass bedrm from the outside with the light on. Stupid me.
  20. WOW~~~ñice nice. Cat, have u move in to your new place??? I love the long display unit in your living room.....super nice. And love your kitchen flooring, with the light reflection it looks cool and unique!!! So did your mom change her mind aft seeing the overall effect in the kitchen? Dun worry, other defect stuffs will solve it eventually. I oso recommend Persil for front load washer, have been using it for the past 9yrs in my old hse till my washer brokedown (due to overload...hahahahahaha) and oso use it for my current one. There are 2 types, powder and liquid. I choose liquid so even spill out will be still easy to clean up.
  21. Veri ex quote received so I din engaged them. Price tag: 46k for first quote w/o changing main door, windows, other stuff juz based on my design theme......
  22. Hi macbart, $110 per foot run is the normal usual price for selecting Black Pearl. Oh yes, Hi-Macs come with 10 yrs warranty and non-porous. In market, onli Corian top is the same standard with LG with non-porous. Tat's is y I choose them too plus the discount of course. My manager giving me a special price (acutally is developer price) @$78 per foot run (cos I choosen the same price range as yours). My gf has choosen a more expensive range so she's getting @$98 per foot run which usual retail price is around $130 or $140? So we still save quite a lot on it. Reno don't come in cheap so can save y not rite? Juz tat I feel paiseh as he has been questioned by my ex-boss how come retail customer the price given is developer pricing. But he managed to get thru it.
  23. hi bluewater, dun worry I wont get offended. The bar stools is the first thing we have cfm for our new hse even we r still in the midst of signing the documents. As reno goes, there's lots changes here and there and turn out the stools r out of the place to match the rest. But moving stuff can change later if realli dun like it so no big deal for it. hahahahhaa....the red color stools...we juz wanna to add some fiery color to the dark place n hope to bring out some contrast to it....turn out tis color or design unable to carry out the effect we want. Maybe I too impluse in getting my first item for the new place. Shld shop around and commit later....learn a lesson.
  24. hi Mickey, I din know it come in two sizes....saw it @Chan Huat n e size is juz rite for my small study area so I juz grab it. Will let me fren know cos they wanted to change their dinning light to my 'apple'. Interesting.... Saw ur curve hall is almost done...so the greenary part is a open arch or will there be any glass door? Realli looking forward to see the curve hall in finished and wif all the things n decorative stuff up. Merry Christmas to you & your wife.
  25. hi butterfingerzz, thanks for the compliments.....now a bit regret to get the bar-stools.....dun seems to match well wif the rest...anyway, we can change it later if we realli come across something we realli like. oh, the painting we got it in Paris....hand-carried back by my hubby and not cheap (in euro).....heartpain. Hope u have a smooth reno for ur new place and Merry Christmas to you. yup yup....bluewater, tis place is dame old....I might be old but I still like sleek n simple design....hahahhahaaha Thanks.....but will have hard time to sell the place if I decided to get a new place and move. Tat will be later part....so dun bother now. Ur reno oso moving in fast....hope ur reno will be a smooth and less hassle one, and move in early to ur new place. Merry Christmas to you & to your family.
