  4. Your kitchen entrance is very nice. And u sure have a lot of carpentry works in your flat, luckily willie's carpentry quote is the cheapest I have seen among all the quotes I have gotten.
  5. Wah, luckily I was there to self supervise the electricians, because there is a certain way I want the wirings to run. So did u get Opennet to redo the wiring yet so that u can get Willie to later conceal it in the false ceiling, etc.
  6. Lyn, I didnt check my Opennet cabling, how was yours damaged? How to check?
  7. Hi Steelze, For me, Vincent was incharge of my reno, and I have the same advise, pls check daily, spot anything not right, call and ask them to change. Vincent will brief the people doing the work, eg, electrician, carpentry, ceiling works, masons, etc, then leave them for the day to do their work, he wont be standing there 8hrs a day to monitor their workmanship, so ultimately since this is our own home, need to be hardworking a bit and check daily ourselves. Vincent will change for you if u tell him to, which is the good thing, he won't try to push blame or say "Is like that one, cannot change liao"
  8. I never posted up my drawings, but you can see their drawings from this t-blog also from Willie/Vincent now doing the reno: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...c=34127&hl=

  10. Bought Ikea Torsby white coloured glass table with steel underframe as my dining table $249. and 4 Laver chairs $12.95 each. This fit my low cheapo dining set budget, and I like the white colour.
  11. No dslr, just a fuji pns. Need to manually adjust the exposure setting till can get this.
  12. Hi Steelze, Hope that Room-for-Ideas can offer you something that is within your budget. I got my curtains from Mgl Curtain & Furnishing 195 Lavender Street 01-02 Eminent Plaza, 338758, Singapore p: 63920373
  13. I have a ceremic soap holder that vincent helped me to fix to the wall before handover, but they used rubber material sealant to seal the sides, which was nice but I find too soft and not very lasting, so yesterday i asked vincent can help to change the sealant (dig out) and change to harder type, and he sent his guys today and did it. My wife also wanted to add additional shelving inside the MBR wardrobe, so we ask vincent can help, and he obliged and add for us too today FOC, hahahahaha. No choice, sometime u don't really know what configuration u want in the wardrobe until u moved in and start using.
  14. Until today I am still calling Vincent to add things and fix things, hahahaha, and he is still very responsive. He must be wondering when I will ever give him peace.
  15. Hi Lyn, Thanks. I had a look at your blog, nice place. All the best to your reno.
  16. Very nice 3D designs. U have lots of carpentry work. Is Willie or Vincent that is overseeing the reno?

  18. Been getting lots of PM request for my contractor contacts the past few days. I have replied every PM. I'll be out of Singapore the next few days so I wont be replying to PMs for couple of days, and I guess putting contractor contact numbers here is probably not a good idea and not allowed. Anyway, just curious, anyone whom I have PMed contact has gotten quote already, and how's the quote?
  19. I realize I didn't have much pics on the storeroom I built in the foyer area. The story is I already have a storeroom inside the kitchen area. But I need more store, and I got my inspiration from many here in RT who built a feature wall to hide their bombshelter entrance, so i told Willie and Vincent I don't have a bomb shelter, but built me a feature wall storeroom at the foyer area anyway. This is a storeroom, not a cabinet, the inside is 7ftx3ft empty space. Here's some pics. All 3 doors closed. Cannot see clearly from my small pics, but the panels are not flushed, but actually pop out (in-out-in-out) to give a more featurewall like 3D effect. Vincent have even more complicated designs but i opted for the very simple alternate colours design. With 3 doors opened. I have a steel rack shelf in this store also, moved from my previous home. U can see the store is full liao, haha. The store in my kitchen is also full.
  20. Hi Steelze, thank you for visiting my reno blog. For my ID search, I actually have HDB floorplans, layout floorplan done with floorplanner.com, plus my own design handdrawing of carpentry things I wanted, attached to a very lengthy email which itemizes and explains everything that I wanted in detail. I then send this same email to every ID contacts I got. Most of them can quote me based on my email cos it already has all the details. Some will call me on phone for some clarification on my email. I spent some time doing the layout and drawings and drafting the email, but saved alot of time meeting and explaining the same things to each ID again and again. Also, once i got very good quotes like from Room For Ideas, I stop beating about the bush in my subsequent emails to other contractors, I will state directly in my email to them that I got a quote for $XXXXX, and they should quote me only if they are confident of quoting lower. This goes on until nobody can quote lower. Then I just meetup with the 2 lowest quote contractors to see who i can click with and prefer. My aircon is Mitsubishi Electric Sys4. I have aircon in Living room and 3 bedrooms. The last bedroom will be installed with a Sanyo sliding window aircon if I need a/c in that room too. This is the best solution I can think of for my place.
