  2. I guess that is the one good thing about getting aircon from GC, they are a big company and have a reputation to uphold.
  3. Hi sazeryn, We choosed the same laminate (the top one) as you. And our kitchen wall tiles are similar.
  4. I stay blk 400+, close to Hougang Mall How about you?
  5. Hi sazeryn, We r fellow Hougang neighbours It's 300x600mm tiles from Hup Kiong. Where did u order yours from?
  6. U r rite samgalz. Have went down today personally to GainCity office to chat with the manager, a very nice gentleman, he promised every issue will be resolved and trunking done. Finally a big relieve.
  7. UPDATE: Have went down today personally to GainCity office to chat with the manager, a very nice gentleman, he promised every issue will be resolved and trunking done. More photos of aircon issues that I need to get resolved <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/Renovation/01.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/Renovation/02.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/Renovation/03.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/Renovation/04.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/Renovation/05.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
  8. Kitchen wall tiles partially up <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/kitchenwall1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> I never imagined the tile trim they use for the edges to be so FAT <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/kitchenwall2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
  9. i said the same thing to him. he reply "oh if u no Lbox, i am going to run your trunking straight across the wall, I wont make the trunking go up to the ceiling for u. If u want the pipes to go up to the ceiling then i wont put trunking for u." Surely I am not the only person in renotalk that have gaincity do aircon pipes above Lbox and false ceiling, anyone else can share their experience? UPDATE 19 June: Have went down today personally to GainCity office to chat with the manager, a very nice gentleman, he promised every issue will be resolved and trunking done.
  10. they say to put the trunking in livign room means that they need to make more 90degree bends in the copper pipe, which may result in aircon not cold. sounds logical rite? but is it really? But but but then hor, already before this exposed section and after this exposed section, is all trunking and 90degree bends also ma, so they r in a way slapping own face. why can have 90 degree bends in other rooms? but living room becos got Lbox to hide their pipes so suddenly uturn and say cannot have 90 degree bends so no trunking? Also, trunking is who fix one? they fix one rite? got law that says trunking must be horizontal to floor? trunking can also run at any angle right? so u see how the pipes run in the picture? they cannot connect several sections of trunking to make it follow the pipes meh? then pipes wont have 90degree bends also mah UPDATE 19 June: Have went down today personally to GainCity office to chat with the manager, a very nice gentleman, he promised every issue will be resolved and trunking done.
  11. Haha, 2 votes for white. Guess I should be going for white then Sigh.....just my bad luck to meet the GC Team from H.ell
  12. Yes, currently the unpainted pipe is already white, so I can visualize it as white. Cant visualize how it will look with green or other colours. Maybe later I can photoshop and see how it will look.
  13. U can see here how GainCity run the aircon pipes across the living room. <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/Renovation/ac_lbox.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> These pipes will be in the Lbox, so the Gain City installers says "NO TRUNKING, NO EXCEPTION, NOT NEGOTIABLE, or else, NO WARRANTY" UPDATE 19 June: Have went down today personally to GainCity office to chat with the manager, a very nice gentleman, he promised every issue will be resolved and trunking done. This is how they do the trunking at the MBR, where the compressor will be installed <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/Renovation/MBRtrunks.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Iam thinking of painting the toilet pipes to make it look nice. brainstorming, 1) paint it green to match the green tiles 2) paint it white to match the white tiles 3) paint it green & white combo to match the green/white tiles 4) paint it to look like a tree, brown tree trunk, green leaves on top
  15. Thanks dbkungfu, that is a great tip, I will ask the installers to do that. The gain city installer not good one leh, they flatly refuse to put trunking to the gas pipes that is above the Lbox, saying is SOP and they wont do trunking and if i insist they wont warranty. So the black armaflex insulator with pipes above my Lbox is expose one, no trunking. Just saw your blog, wow, your place looks great. Post bigger pics so then we can enjoy more.
  16. Hi folks, today will be the day Gain City comes to lay the pipes. I was thinking of running some pipes (mostly drainage) behind the builtin wardrobes to hide it. Anyone who has done this can share the experience? How to design the wardrobes such that can still check and service the pipes?
  17. They tiled my common toilet wall today, partially done <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/Renovation/ctwalltiles1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/Renovation/ctwalltiles2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

If you're worried, maybe ask your contractor to grind a sample to show you first. I think its neater this way cause the pvc strip is actually 'round' corner and it kinda 'pop' out at the right angle. Have your contractor show you the pvc for the floor? If Im not wrong, those pvc strip have limited colour. It will be quite ugly (in my opinion) if the pvc colour isn't close to your floor tiles. Kind of like 'highlighting' that strip on the floor. By the way, your bedroom floor tiles look like my old kitchen floor tiles. Hee.. <img src="http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> Hi Rasp, thank you, i will check with my contractor. ya, almost same colour as your old kitchen tile. My bedroom and kitchen tiles is actually this type of tiles, u can see up close, wood look. <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/MyWoodTiles.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
  19. Masterbedroom floor tiled yesterday <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/Renovation/MBRfloor.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/Renovation/MBRfloor2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
  20. Really nice combination, so your MBR toilet is actually 3 types of tiles. I also like your common br mosiac like tiles
  21. Oh ok. Can ask for the floor edges that they grind, then the inside of the tiles will be exposed right? won't it be a different colour from the tile surface? Cos from your pic, seem like the inside colour not far off from the surface colour, can't really see a big difference, maybe because your tiles are light colours. My tiles are dark colour
  22. Hi Aerial, thank you. We spent so much time running between Hafary and Hup Kiong because of the tiles selection and combinations, hahaha. Will post pics once the tiles are up. Stay tuned. I love your dark mosiac tiles! Is that your toilet or kitchen?

Personally I think its neater than to use those pvc tile trims, cause the colour of those pvc tile cant match the tiles exactly.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> hi Rasp, thanks. I saw your blog photos. actually i am asking about the edges <img src="http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> I have used some of your blog photos to illustrate, hope you don't mind. U can see where my black arrows are pointing to. My question is actually what to do about these 90 degrees edges? pvc trims better? cos my contractor say just tile together and grind it to be less sharp, but then that means the under colour of the tiles (which is different colour form the surface of the tiles) will be showing. How did Henry do for the 3 edges shown below? thanks <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/Renovation/edge1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/Renovation/edge2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/nick/Renovation/edge3.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
  24. Hi, I have a question to seek everyone advise here. For the kerbs for the toilets, base for the fridge, washing machine, etc, and edges for the concrete tiled sink support, what is the best solution to the edges where 2 tiles meet at 90degree angle? I was told that nowadays just cement 2 tiles at right angle, then u can see the sides of the top tile in different colour from the tiles surface. Then they will grind it so that edges is not so sharp. Is this the nicest way to tile an edge? Is this the most popular way to do it nowadays? I aksed them about using rounded PVC tile trims to cover the edges where tiles meet, they say they can do that also. Is this way better? does it look better? Any advise for me very much appreciated. thanks
