  1. I need someone to redo my door frame so I can have thicker doors, any recommendations?
  2. I have a rough idea of what the guy told me somewhere but that included doing everything.... else in the house...lemme see if i can find it
  3. So i called Central Alum and to remove the what I would call the left and right rails that the shutters r attached to and to construct a framed glass thingy that would be placed in the cavity, permits and no elec no fan 176 per unit. But it would be alum framing and frosted glass. Anyone else has experience with exhaust fans and doing what I wanna do? A proper install not some hack hob with acrylic? I lost track of thread i saw on here which gave a name of someone else Sharon or something I don remb which company it is... Any leads would be appreciated thanks
  4. one thing I cant figure out is why didnt you make your walls flush with the beams?
  5. I wouldnt expect it to cost too how much can 6 pieces of granite and labour cost..... and that little space will make a HUGE difference seeing how little space I have to begin with. I expect the removal of the wall the fixing of the floor and the creation of the new door ways and false wall in the other room to cost no more than 2K and 3 if I am going for special door frames and doors. which I intend to do... especially for my room I want as sound proof a door as possible. I am expecting a quote next week I'll update
  6. has anyone actually tried that company a year or so ago I got them to come and do a quote but I was too busy to deal with it then ... I'd prefer if there was some first had experience.
  7. have u used them for interior doors? I am looking for good quality interior doors. custom stuff
  8. Anyone have any experience with this company? Reviews? THANKS
  9. I am still looking been procrastinating for some time.... thing is I dont want to remove my granite skirting so I have to get something that is able to fit above and cover it.
  10. Also you can see from the last pic above 3 slabs of granite from each side of the wall would have to be replaced to make the floor look proper again. I have 2 slabs I can use to do a simple patch up job but it will ruin the look of the whole floor.
  11. Many years ago I had the store door walled up and the side wall demolished to create a space of a open concept wardrobe. Now the idea is I need more space, so I intend to have that wall knocked down and my current door area removed therefore creating one open space and moving the door to the archway area you can see in the foreground of the picture. The existing doorway into the other room on the right will be my new walk in closet...3 or 4 feet into that door way I will erect a wall/prob from drywall(gypsum board) and metal/wood frame. And another access door will have to be created in living room to provide access to the other part of that room. I am hoping to use this thread to document the process, get recommendations for contractors and granite specialists etc. By jdanielca at 2012-01-30 The wall side view: By jdanielca at 2012-01-30
