Would agree with you that the touch up and rectification is slow. In part it could also be due to the fact that because I have moved in, they can come only when I'm around. But my ID did not charge me for the touch up/rectifications. Eg my hubby realised that he needs more shelving for study area, he asks for a movable castor drawers. It is not chargeable since it's supposed to be part of the $/psf they quote for the study desk cum cabinet. If charge for touch up, yes that is ridiculous! Dont' think you shd pay them for this. I heard there are as many as 60 IDs within Image but less than 10 in house designers. Ultimately it is not just the coy but the ID too that's impt

They would show you a design which are hand-drawn. Quite detailed though. But most of the designs are just replicas of past works.. like they show you pics and when you see something you like, just copy and modify a bit. Not too exciting for me. When I talked to my current ID from image, he went down to my actual site to have a feel and do full measurement of the place . talking of full measurement, I mean really full, he spent few hours to do just that! That is even before we commit anything. I said I cannot commit yet because frankly I am comparing with a few IDs design and quotes first but he said it's okay as he prefers to come up with design that suits the character of the place, that's why he do not mind spending time to have a 'feel' of the house. When i compare the quotes, at first crescendo looks reasonable but when I add up their electrical quotes, it wasn't very much lower. So it wasn't too difficult to decide on my final ID from image. Having said all these, the lady ID from crescendo is still a lot better than the other IDs that I spoke to at TradeHub. Don't want to badmouth by listing out their company but in general, after talking to a few IDs, you'd know who's the one. From the IDs I spoke to, I streamline down to these two Crescendo and Image. So go ahead to talk to a few and compare. It's worth the time to do a bit of homework too.

My new house was done up by this company. My ID is from KL, very hardworking and dedicated. Though the handover was delayed and in fact I move in with the reno 85% complete. Mine was a very rush job because I gave him only 3 weeks, only confirmed with him at the very last minute though my brother strongly recommended him (He was also my brother's ID) very willing to do rectification or enhancements. For instance, when notice the colours of the glasses or mirrors for display area was not satifactory, he is willing to do changes. Still waiting for his reply with his carpenters on the solution. I would say their quote looks high upfront. i even contemplated to save costs by outsourcing the painting, vanishing and wood decking works but I'm now glad I did not because I must praise them for doing a much better job. For eg, the painter that I enquire would give me a $400 discount but will only come for a one time paint job. But when i move in and with all the unpacking, the walls are stained. My ID asked his painter to do come in to do a final touch up after everything is moved in. I think it'd be the third touch up at least. Also did some rectifications to study cabinets etc which he tried his best to accommodate. Though there were certain requirements which were not fulfilled, he more than made up for it in other places before we even ask. The rest of the items which we took out eg my son's study desk and cabinets, I am actually thinking of going back to them. eg image quote for 6 ft study cum cabinet is $1800. When I ask another carpenter (non ID) the quote is only $1K+. But when I ask for the design, was told only certain std colours otherwise need to top up. Need castor cabinets, another $320. The door hinges also not piston otherwise got to +++. So far most satisfed with the living and master room TV console. At night, the living console gives a 'cinematic' effect. i heard he's managing 6 projects concurrently all from referrals. I can give you his contact if interested but if you are looking to a rush job to finish in a month time, not sure if he can take in any new cases at this moment. Just to share My contract quote was $30K plus. This consists of works on study room desk cum cabinets 8 ft, changing existing wardrobe door, extension of study wardrobe ano 8 ft changing of master room wardrobe door, TV console with storage; Living room TV console with side cabinets; Dining mirrors with long stretch of cabinets, divider; living room cove lighting; 3 display units (in glass ; tinted mirrors); wood decking; polycarbon at balcony; vanishing of parquet floor; painting; shifting, addition of power points etc

I think voiding a credit card transaction would be instantaneous too. U might have to go to his shop with your signed credit card receipt and ask them to void the transaction on the spot. Think they just need to call up the transaction with transaction code of your credit card receipt.

So much for having so much faith in them.... After the staff has confirmed that the delivery date would be on schedule (I called them up one week in advance) I was told 3 days before delivery date that my storage bed delivery would be delayed for few more days. said shipment problem. The prince bed delivery would be earlier though. I had no choice but to sleep in the new house with my mattress on the floor (lucky i did not buy the mattress from them or else will have to sleep on floor ) But the day when the prince bed came, was told delivery got problem again as the guy from warehouse loaded the wrong size mattress for the pull out. After a few hours, they called up to say problem solved. But when the prince beds came, the headboards were not there. (they miss out) so the headboards only came another day. Finally when the storage bed came, notice that the colour wasn't quite right. Called up and they said they would check. One week liao still no reply. sigh.... since i do not really mind the delivered colour a lot, will just take it otherwise I can't unpack properly. The only consolation is that the bed are really comfy. My brother told me that I should not have made full payment. He did not make in full and maybe that's why he got his bed on time i guess. Well if you really want to get the beds from them, must make sure to commit on a delivery date (and cushion in 2 weeks of delay) and do not make full payment upfront.

I ordered storage bed from them on 29th Oct. Was told that day was the cut off date for their shipment. Got a bit of discount for ordering that day too since the boss told us that since his shipment got space, it's more cost effective to take in our added order, hence the discount. The boss also told us expressly that if we order that day, must wait for early Dec to receive goods which was fine with us. Guess if you have ordered after that, got to wait for next shipment. I'm not too sure when's that though. Just called to confirm the delivery this sat, a lady staff confirmed that delivery would be on schedule. As for the bed frame, my brother also bought from them. The quality is really good, I must say. That's why I went to them. Just hope my shipment would be okay. will post comments after receive stock.

I did up my HDB few years back using a contractor. Just look up design and decor magazines and when find something i like, just cut it out and show the contractor i want this. Also need to tell contractor exactly what designs i want for study cabinets and study table. To really save cost for things that I can get cheaper quotes on my own, i do not even go through my contractor. It was really cost saving and i had spare cash to buy more high end furnitures. However it was really really time consuming. And I would see some pieces of design look nice on its own but overall lack the wow factor even though i spent a huge sum for whole house plus furnishing. this time round engage an ID because I really have no time. Some IDs that I come across hardly give me any ideas, just purely replicate some of their past works and show me pics. However i think my final ID did a good job as he gives fresh and practical ideas and designs that match my new house. His colour sense also very good (I'm not so good at this and glad that he's such a good help). Guess it all boils down to a few things: - do you have the time to do coordination work? - whether contractor or ID, it depends on what you want. The real ID can really do a fab job than contractor. It's not about coming up with freshest and newest designs, but designs that suit your place and enhance its character. but not all IDs are 'real IDs' and good contractors with some design sense can perhaps do better than these so-called IDs. Just my two cents.

I have talked to an ID from Crescendo. Was a lady who came down to my new place for actual measurement with her partner. after measurement, gave a revised quote and shown me some designs in another meeting. Find them okay and friendly to talk to, just that in comparison with the ID I finally engage, they pale out in terms of design.

actually the location of the ID does not really matter. I stay in Jurong west too. initially was thinking along the same line as you but in the end I sign up with one which is in the ubi crescent. so far only went down once to view their showroom pieces and maybe need to go down one more time. Other than that, my ID always meet us at our current place or new house. Can't show picture because only just finished discussing on the detailed drawings and colour combi. very impressed with this ID for his dedication and drive. He did up my brother's place. Was a bit skeptical at first when my brother told me how good was this guy. Now I'm convinced after seeing how well he did up my brother's place and so far has never seen someone loving his job so much that i think it shows in his design. If u r interested, can pm me.
